We contracted to have a addition and stamped patio done with steps on both sides of the addition as well as a front porch.For the most part the work looks good and we are okay except the patio and stairs.We were told that Kalfas doesn't use sub contractors and this is why we chose them. Truth is the majority of the work was done by subs.On the north side of our home is where the patio was poured several issues1) they created a window well which would fill in and leaked into the new basement. I eventually told them to pull the NEW window and block it in so they didn't have to cut out the patio.2) They created a low spot near a exiting window causing a puddle.3) when they sealed the patio it rained within a few hours and someone came back and covered it with plastic. The result of covering it caused what looks like white spots that may have held moisture. It looks terrible.I have been in contact with them starting back in September 2012, regarding these items.In early May I contacted them about the corner of the patio chipping away due to having no expansion joint between the patio and the new addition.They claim that the stopped by and said they could glue the corner back on.REALLY like that's why I spent $130,000 with this companyOn the south side of the addition the steps are corroding at the base. The first responded by saying "we thought you would have patio blocks put in to support this" Like I am supposed to add something to make there work hold up.At this point I would like to have the patio taken out and redone level to the ground as there subcontractor told me it would be. This way all the items could be corrected properly verse adding band aids.When ever I contact the office they pass the info on to [redacted] (Foreman) and sometimes he calls or text but never does any of them meet me to discuss any corrections.
