Just a word of caution, so no one else has to experience what I did these last days with Krause Optical in the Mall on 13th Ave in Medicine Hat From the moment that I walked through their door, I was treated with disrespect and impolitenessNear the beginning of the basic eye exam I asked the Optician (not an eye doctor) if he could supply me with my pupil distanceHe then responded with that it is an extra charge and how he has been doing this for years and knows all the loop holesThen went on to say that they have to charge for it because they have to pay rent and "bricks and mortar" and the other people do not (in reference to online eye glass services.) His attitude immediately changed even though at no point did I say that I was going to order my glasses onlinePrior to this I had actually complimented them on their "cheaper" pricing Mr [redacted] was rude when I did my eye exam as I was having trouble trying to tell which lenses were betterI was told that "he had 90-year-old patients that could decide quicker than me", this made me feel inadequate and like I was wasting his time, even though it is my right to make sure that I have the proper lenses After my exam was done, I went to the front and Viona [redacted] assisted me, this was where I was informed that my exam would now cost me [redacted] I was shocked as this was not the price that I was quotedI was then informed that the basic eye exam cost was [redacted] and I was charged [redacted] to take my prescription out of the officeI had to wait until later that day to get my numbers as they had to send it off to an Ophthalmologist in Calgary to have the prescription verified During my later conversations with Mrs [redacted] , again she was extremely rude and disrespectful! I ended up just having them fax my information to me as I did not want to enter that door again.I did have to call back and ask them to verify what the numbers were as they were hard to read, upon being told what they were she was very rude!
