R & E Heating & Cooling

Review: Poor Service. They came to our home to do the preseason inspection of our central air conditioning unit and get it ready for the summer. They were to inspect the unit inside and out, change any filters and evaluate any wiring and fluids. As soon as we had our first hot day, we turned on the air conditioner and all it did was blow hot air through the vents. I called the next day to let R & E Heating and Cooling know that it was not working. They told me that they would get back to me. I had to call again and ask them to come out.. This time they came out and inspected the unit again. [redacted] said he wanted to wait until his brother was back from vacation before he could do anything. We waited over a week and a half for them to come. We called again and asked them to call us. We again waited for them to get back to us. The next day I waited all morning for them to return our call. They never did. I finally got them in the afternoon and asked how soon could they get out to us since we had a house full of people. [redacted] told me that he wouldn't be able to get out to us until Thursday and this was Tuesday. I told him that we had been waiting over a week and a half for them to get there and we really needed them to make good on this service call. He told me that the best he could do was Thursday after he visited another home in our complex. I said that was not acceptable and asked if he had any idea what might be wrong with the system, thinking that maybe we could do the fix ourselves. He told me that he thought the whole unit needed to be replaced even though the unit is less than 10 years old. I asked if we should find someone to do the repair then since R & E couldn't fit us into their schedule. I called a couple of other places and [redacted] services came out to our house and after their inspection told us that the unit was fine, it just needed to have the Freon topped off. The service person did that and our unit was humming along. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I had called and asked for a refund before and that was ignored. I am hoping that with Revdex.com's help we will get a refund and an apology for not returning our calls and not sending a check. Thank you for your assistance with this issue.
