Review: I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer. The washer would not agitate. Several phone calls to the owners with no response for several days. They finally called me on the 2nd day, made arrangements for them to pick up the washer and find out why it didn't work. They never called me back. Placed another call several days later and was told the timer went bad and that it was too expensive for them to fix it. They wanted me to pick out another washer but didn't see anything that I liked. I went back on three seperate occasions and still did not like anything in their inventory. Asked for my money back, a part time employee gave me the cash back but would not refund the $35.00 delivery fee. The owner [redacted] also stated that he did not want to talk about this any more. I shouldn't have to pay a $35.00 delivery fee for something that I don't have.Desired Settlement: $35.00 refund

Mrs. [redacted]r purchased a washer and dryer from our location. She called us that evening (after working hours) and left a "vulgar" message on our voicemail - that her washer was not functioning correctly. We called her back the very next day and brought the machine to the store to evaluate the problem. Once we detected that the machine was non-repairable, we offered her 2 resolutions as follow: 1. Full Refund - or - 2. Trade out for another machine. She initially opted to choose another machine. She made several visits to our store (and always insisted on making a scene in front of our customers using profane language) - but did not find another washer to her liking. We offered her a complete refund. We paid her $440 (the total price paid for "BOTH" the washer and dryer. We told her that the $35 delivery fee would be paid at the same time we pick up our dryer that she still possessed. When we called to pick it up - she insisted on "yelling profanities -and- racial slurs." Nevertheless, she refuses to give us our dryer back. In essence, she is committing theft. We will GLADLY give this customer her $35 once she returns our merchandise. We are a family owned business - and ask that Mrs. [redacted]r not return to our store once this transaction is finalized. Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:

This "family owned business" has repeatedly lied to me and continues to lie regarding my complaint. They are making up their own story in regards to how this transpired. I have never been treated so rudely by a business. They sold me merchandise that didn't work and then argued with me about it. I had to place 4 calls to them and it took over a week for someone to return my call. I will also add that no vulgar message was left nor was there any scene made in the store. The owner of the company "[redacted]" told me he didn't want to talk about it any more.

I have no intention of ever returning to the store and will also inform others to stay away.

Review: Company took a cash deposit of $300, when I tried to get my deposit back--it was refused. This company had no clear notices either in their retail location or on the paperwork that I received stating that my deposit was non-refundable. I was told I could receive an in-store credit and when I declined that offer. I informed the owner that he can't just make up consumer retail policies on the fly. He informed me that he was an active duty US Navy commander, as if that meant anything, and refused. The owner of the store then got arrogant and snippy stating that if I could show him the statutes that he was in violation he would discuss a refund with me. I emailed him the state statute that he was in violation of--he has ignored all emails and phone calls from me since.Desired Settlement: I would like for this business to quit riding being a veteran as an advertising tool, and to be made to pay refunds to all veterans that he has cheated.
