The motor spent most of its time at the machine shop trying to locate parts, the vehicle will be done and cleaned, tire fixed and a full tank of fuel by Friday of next week, yes I agree it was a poor choice to sublet the vehicle and use the shops that we did, with that said the shop is installing the motor and explained to me I would have it back in time to get the car cleaned and tire repaired and the tank filled up for the customer by the delivery date of next friday, the warranty is now with *** *** *** *** for year.Thank you,Rich R***

Revdex.com:

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Since purchasing this vehicle in Feb.2013, R & B Automotive have had it in their possession for more than months, and currently have had it in their possession for more than a yearThey have had possession longer than I have, and I still have to pay for license, and insurance on a vehicle I cannot useR & B response is accurate, however, all I read is more excuses that I have been dealing with for months, and I do not see a timeline for the return of this vehicleI feel I am having to pay in more ways than one for his poor decision to sublet repairs of this car to inferior businessesIn R & B's remarks, I fail to see any solution to the issue at hand: namely the return of my vehicle in good mechanical working order.

want. Thank you [redacted] for your help in this matter. My name is [redacted] I own R&B auto and diesel repair, when the said customer dropped off the truck the machine shop told me that it would take 6 to 8 weeks to rebuild the motor. # months later they finally finished it, we reinstalled the motor and test drove 60 miles with no issue with the vehicle. Customer picked up vehicle drove 11 miles and stated that it over heated, instead of brining back to our shop they towed the vehicle to Where they live, then they called me on Monday to state they had an over heat issue. They attempted to change out the coolant and that didn't resolve the problem for them, I paid to have the vehicle towed back to my Shop and continued to try and figure out there complaint, the whole time we had the vehicle not once did it over heat or run hot. I contacted the customer and he stated that his brother told him it was the Radiator so we replaced the radiator drove. We drove the vehicle over the mountain sending two people to drop it off and get back and the truck did not over heat, The next day they contact me stating that it overheated on them, How can we drive the truck for 4 hours and have no issue they get in it and they have an issue, doesn't make since to me. At this time they took it to another dealer who tried to say we installed the thermostat in the wrong location without proof of it. I am a 17 year tech with Chrysler/Dodge and my specialty was Diesels so I know there is no way I put a thermostat where it doesn't belong. The dealer in Grand Junction also tried to state and lay blame on our shop for a plugged heater core and they stated that when the motor blew it plugged the heater core and we should have caught that, well the customer drove the truck in to my shop the motor was not blown just had a knock. I then received a letter from the customer demanding payment for repairs that they had to do on there truck, as a business owner I carry insurance to protect me incase there is an issue with a vehicle that we are driving or work on, My insurance company did there investigation and stated that R&B is not liable for the damages on the car at that point I thought this matter was resolved, that is until I received this notification from the Revdex.com, Please accept this response and let me know what else I can do in this matter to help the Revdex.com resolve it as well.Thank you,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I would like to respond to the response from [redacted]:
He left out some very important factors in this complaint, 1st the truck was picked up and drove only 5 miles away the 1st pick and was returned to have the overheating problem corrected, the 2nd time the truck was picked up and drove about the same distance and it was stilling having the overheating problems. At that time we chose to have it towed to our local Dodge dealership, in which they found that the truck had several issues and some of the work had not be completed as per our requests. Dodge Dealership in Gran Junction found one issue was the wrong clutch fan had been installed; R & B had installed a fan clutch for a 2006, not for a 2003. [redacted] with Grand Junction Dodge called and said that there were issues and the truck needed to be sent back to R&B to have them correct the problems. Yes, R & B did in fact pick the truck up and towed back to there shop and tried again to fix the over heating problems. They kept the truck for another 3 weeks, we did, in fact, ask if it could be the radiator, [redacted] said it could be possible. We did give in permission to install a new one. On January 27, 2014, again the truck was returned to me, it was drove 10 miles to my home. The following day, the 28th, I drove the truck 17 miles and the temperature gauges registered 245 degrees, stopped on the interstate with the truck running hot. I called [redacted] and my husband to tell them that the truck was still running out. We decided to not have R&B work on our vehicle, because 3 times of not repairing or completing the said work. The vehicle was towed back to our local Dodge dealership and it a timely manner and $$$$ later. It was repaired properly.R&B Automotive and Diesel repair should still be liable for most of the extra cost, because the General Liability Insurance he carries does not over workmanship, in this instance, the motor work or internal components, it only covers damage to items that he does not work on, such as physical damage. So in actuality, the insurance is worthless for mechanical work. Thanks,[redacted]

The vehicle in question was delivered to R&B and we pulled the motor took the motor to [redacted] where it spent a few month getting the engine rebuilt, after they were finished, we picked up the motor and delivered the motor and vehicle to [redacted] in Ft...

Collins for install. [redacted] installed the motor and the customer picked up the vehicle. after driving the vehicle the customer contatcted us and stated that the car was having a battery issue, we towed the vehicle in at our expense and determined that [redacted] had tightened the positive battery cable that goes from the battery to the starter between the manifold and the block, Contacted [redacted] and Spoke to [redacted] who stated he wouldn't pay for any repairs, since we didn't do the work we went ahead and paid for the tow and the new battery and did the labor for free to take care of the customer. Then the customer picked it up and drove it for a while at which point he stopped by about a noise from the motor listened to the noise and contacted [redacted] about the noise, they said to have the customer bring the vehicle and get back it looked at. Next time I spoke to [redacted] he had called and said the vehicle quit running on his way to the machine shop to have them listen to the noise at which point I paid for another tow at our expense. Contacted [redacted] which by now had changed its name to [redacted] and he [redacted] Stated to have the customer pay for the repairs, I then pulled the motor out again and took it to the machine shop where it spent 8 months getting repaired and trying to locate broken parts. I then received a call from the machine shop that they were missing some parts that were damaged and no longer available through the dealer or the parts store, so I went to a junk yard picked up and paid for more parts out of pocket on a job that we didn't get paid for, all money Mr. [redacted] paid went to [redacted] and [redacted]. Then Machine shop contacted me and stated that the motor was not covered under warranty since the shop that installed the motor had placed a bolt in the wrong location causing the motor to expire. At this point I had to raise the $2071.07 to pay to get the motor from the machine shop to get it re installed in the car, at this time [redacted] is under a new owner which was the original owner and the vehicle is at there location to get the motor reinstalled. To this point I have $2776.07 into a vehicle I did not make any money on since the job was subleted to two other businesses and just last week had to by more parts for the vehicle
