RCI enters into affiliation agreements with resorts and those resorts, in turn, offer their timeshare purchasers the opportunity to become Members by entering into a subscribing membership agreement with RCI to which certain terms and conditions apply. We would like to thank you for brining Ms. [redacted]'s correspondence to our attention and for giving our organization the opportunity to research this matter thoroughly. We have reviewed and documented our findings, and we would like to provide you with the facts and our resolution concerning this matter.
Our records indicate that Ms. [redacted] purchased four (4) RCI Vacation Packages on December 9, 2014. The cost of each package was $1,499.00 with a down payment of $149.00 follow3ed by twelve (12) monthly payments of $121.50. Each package included (1) 3, 000 Savings Credits to be used as partial payments towards the purchase of select hotel stays, wine, and general merchandise, (2) Quarterly Specials for 2 years; (3) $100.00 in Vacation Cash; and (4) your choice of either a 7 night resort stay OR a 7 day cruise.
Records reflect that Ms. [redacted] contacted our agency on January 22, 2015 and booked a 7 night Mediterranean family vacation with her cruise certificates. Ms. [redacted] booked four cabins on the [redacted] leaving June 14, 2015. Ms. [redacted] also authorized us to speak to her daughter, [redacted] regarding the packages and the subsequent cruise bookings.
Our records indicate that on May 11, 2015 Ms. [redacted] contacted our agency and spoke to our customer service agent, [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] wanted an explanation of the costs related to the cruise bookings, as well as how the packages work, as she was concerned about the price her mother was paying for the cruises. [redacted] explained to her how the package works, reminding her of the other benefits included in the package, and also reviewed, in detail, the costs on each booked cruise to Ms. [redacted]'s satisfaction. [redacted] offered [redacted] and the other travelers an additional $100.00 in Vacation Cash, per cabin, and advised her that he would have that $100.00 along with the original $100.00 included in the package, added to their bookings as On Board Credit. Ms. [redacted] was appreciative of the gesture and the detailed explanation.
In review, the @00.00 in Vacation Cash has been converted to On Board Credit and added to 3 of the cabins. The fourth cabin, which is [redacted]'s has a total of $300.00 On Board Credit.
