R & C Towing - Repair Machine Shop Reviews (%countItem)

R & C Towing & Repair charged my company ( ***) for a brake job on the left rear brakes on my 2006 Nissan model 2600. When we got the truck back to ***, it was necessary to do the right rear brakes since that was normal procedure for safety. When the company's mechanic finished the right side brakes, it is then normal to bleed the system to ensure that all is done correctly.Upon bleeding the system, we discovered that the left rear was not done properly. When R & C was confronted with my issues, I was informed that I was not going to be satisfied by R&C in any way shape or form. Furthermore, I was told that R&C had a lawyer on retainer full time.I then learned that R&C had at least four lawyers in ***. on retainer. All I was seeking was restitution on the monies I paid R&C so that the proper repairs could and would be done by *** mechanic for ***. Both the driver and truck were put in danger because of the failure of R&C to do the proper job, Needless yo say business was also lost.

R & C Towing - Repair Machine Shop Response

We have responded to this complaint with this company and asked them for proof of this situation to no avail. This company is sending the Revdex.com information that is outright lies and very much slanderous. This company (***) had a truck that was operating on the interstate system with very unsafe equipment. This truck was taken out of service by the Motor Carrier officers at the Bland VA Scales. This company then asked us to tow it to our facility and fix the problem. It had to be towed due to the officers not releasing it to be driven on any highway. This company then decided to provide all the parts themselves to fix the truck. They were sent after several days to our shop from ***. That is how they told us to do the repair. This truck was repaired and driven for many miles and then this company decides they want to blame us for repairs that we did properly. We only repaired what they told us to in order for them to get the truck back on the road. This man at *** has called our general manager and threatened to sue us for criminal charges and do all kinds of things to hurt our company. He called the Wythe Co Sheriffs Dept trying to cause trouble but he was told R & C is a very respectable company and if *** had a problem with something they needed to come to them with their proof and then it would be considered. They have called lawyers in our area and then told Revdex.com I have several lawyers on retainer which is an outright lie. I would like to see their proof of that statement. We have asked for the odometer reading on the truck so we would know how many miles was driven or a copy of their IFTA report showing mileage for that truck. *** has not provided anything other than threats. So now they resort to this complaint. Bottom line is we did what the company asked with the parts they provided. This is what makes it so hard to even consider working on vehicles that the owner wants it done the quickest way to get them back on the road while they are instructing certified mechanics how to do their job. Makes for a very hard situation.

Customer Response

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is in response to answer from R & C Towing in regarding . complaint #: ***. first line: *** has sent pictures of work done by R & C. The response is the first of many lies written by them on this complaint. *** still has all the pictures available to all. It was not ***'s choice to get towed to R & C. Had *** known what was going to happen, *** would have had the truck towed to ***. were the repairs would have been dons correctly. Doing that would have been cheaper, even with the 375 miles of towing charges. *** did not decide to supply the parts needed to do proper repairs. We were told by R&C that they did not have or knew were to get the parts. When told of this, I obtained seals from *** in *** and drove 375 miles tro R&C. R&C never used the seals I brought them. All the parts were flown in from a UD parts company in California at a cost that reflected the cost of what R&C attempted to do. *** ever asked R&C to rush the job, just do it right. The truck and the driver spent five days waiting for proper repairs. Did I speak with the police? Yes, but they told me they were unaware of R&C. I was not surprised by that, since in most cities even the police cannot know all the businesses that are in any town. The police told me to talk to the magistrate office and there I was told, although it may sound criminal it is civil. If R&C does not have several lawyers on retainer, then how come several lawyer from a list I was given in the court house told me it would be a conflict of interest if they were my attorney. Since *** does not have trucks over 26,000 pounds, we are not an IFTA regulated company. We sent R&C a picture of the odometer by request. The odometer milage was never put on the bill, which was paid for before the truck was released, R&C got all the proof they needed, but all *** got was long time waiting. *** for the record, never threatens any one. It is interesting that whom ever answered the complaint never signed it. I am not a mechanic, nor will I ever admit to having a great deal of knowledge when it come to truck, car, or any repair. But when I am wrong, I will admit to it. I will take a lie detector test on the truth of my written statement. Will R&C do the same on the statement I am holding?

R & C Towing - Repair Machine Shop Response

In response to the complaint of ***: R & C owner asked for pictures of the truck from the rear of the right side, left side and the back of truck in order to show which side *** said was down when the truck returned to ***. Motor Carrier had only put the truck out of service for the left side brakes. The right seal was also leaking but R & C was told by *** that the left side (which was on the out of service order) was what they wanted replaced. Enough repairs to get them back on the road. DOT had the truck towed out of their facility. It (the left side) was in such bad shape they would not even allow it to be driven to a shop. One seal (left side) was used. The mileage was on the out of service order from Virginia Motor Carrier. Driver was given the old brake shoes to take home. It is really easy for you to sit behind a keyboard and complain. You were there for 5 days due to your parts having to be shipped. The wrong parts were sent the first time and you knew this because you were the one ordering the parts. You chose to supply the parts. Why would you go to the police while in Wytheville? You asked us to work on this truck. You are what makes it hard for any business to function. R & C was very good to you. We took you to a hotel and made sure you had a place to rest. Why would you be lawyer shopping before you left town with the truck? Just because you are not IFTA regulated doesn't mean you should drive trucks on the highways in such disrepair that you would have an out of service order. You are mad because you were caught at the scales in Virginia, 375 miles away from your base with an unsafe vehicle that had to be repaired before you could be back out on the road. *** wouldn't send pictures because the right side was probably down. Only makes sense since you didn't want it repaired and that was only because it wasn't included in the out of service order. Don't blame R & C for your mistakes. Your company only wanted the truck fixed enough to get it out of the confinement the out of service order stated and that's what you got. You obviously aren't a mechanic and do not have knowledge about the repair that was done to the truck. What you are doing is very wrong. And a lie detector test--really!! I really am tired of being nice and I could care less about the statement you are holding. R & C has been in business in our small town for over ten years. Everyone here knows we are good to people but it's people like you that make it hard to help people. I sincerely hope your company will start keeping your trucks better maintained and safe so DOT officers will pass you in their next inspection. You put a lot of people, including your drivers in danger by putting trucks on the road in these deplorable conditions.
