I purchased a camper from camping world in June 2018, and received a free camping voucher to Allegany Mountain Resort I called weeks ahead to schedule the weekend I was told that it was for immediate family only I am not married, and I told them that I camp with my girlfriend and another couple regularly, and that if they could not join me, then I would not want to take them up on the offer They got back to me and said that they would allow me to have guests even though this was against policy I got confirmation of this from Kayla at Allegany, and Rachel from their corporate location I have text messages to prove it I informed my girlfriend and the other couple of the good news, and we made the plansTo receive the free camping, you must take a membership tour during your stay I happened to take mine on Saturday afternoon Kayla gave us the tour and said that she would help us get the guest pass for my friends who were already on their way since she was well aware that they were joining us for weeks before After the tour, I declined to become a member, as I don't have $8,to pay for a camping membership right now After I declined, she did not help us get the passes, and as a matter of fact her boss said that we could not have guests anymore I tried to be civil with him and let him know that this was pre-approved and that I had talked to Rachel at their corporate office as well as Kayla He said that he would call Rachel and inquire I didn’t hear anything for approximately minutes and so I called back He said that he didn’t talk to Rachel, but that he called the owners, and they said that my pre-approved guests were not welcome anymore I called Rachel to try to get some help, as my guests were almost to the campgrounds at that point and she knew that they were joining us She said that Jeff probably just didn’t get the memo, but she would try to call her boss After a few texts back and forth, she couldn't get ahold of her boss and then she went silent and didn’t answer any texts She was being nice, but obviously was told to stop talking to me I tried one last time to reason with Jeff, but he was being a complete jerk and was “flexing” his camping management powersIn the end, my friends not only didn’t get to camp that weekend, but they drove all the way down and wasted their time and gas To make things worse, they were bringing the groceries for Saturday and Sunday, so we had to leave the campground This was planned out for weeks in advance, and just because they didn’t get the sale, they turned into heartless jerks They completely ruined a weekend for all of us, and they did it just because they didn’t get a sale It takes a very shady person/persons to ruin someone’s weekend just out of spite
I have been a member for about years The park is a really special place and I have been told that it is one of the top parks like this in the entire country I have nothing but good things to say about the owner he is putting a lot of money in to the park and management is on top of things and is transparent with members Overall it's a good experience The bottom line is that it's a really beautiful place which makes it all worth it at the end of the day
At an Ellicottville Fall Festival, I was given an invitation to attend an open house at the Allegany Mountain Resort If you went during the Week on Thursday or Friday, you were promised Totally Free Gifts, a weeks stay at the resort, a day night stay at a motel and a $debit card Well my wife and I, complied with all of the requirements to get the free gifts,(between & years old, income of at least $50,000, both parties musts attend and show drivers licenses to verify same address, take a minute tour) Well after watching a video and then listening to the first sales woman for a total time of minutes, who was very evasive of our questions, she called for another person to come out and talk to us This man talked to us for another minutes and concluded that we must not be all that interested, in purchasing the minimum purchase of $*** for the year minimum membership fee to have access to the resort He then suggested that this resort is not for everyone and we might as well stop the tour We thought he did this to save the guide's time and ours As we were leaving, we were told the week stay at the resort was was for tent camping only, not for the RV section or in the cabins We would not get the $card, but would qualify for the free night getaway ( the get away is a scam, it not freeYou must activate a certificate with in days send them $supposedly refundable and a self addressed stamped envelope, they then send you a reservation form within days, you have to fill that out and send it back within days with $that is NOT REFUNDABLE, then once your stay is over you need to submit a request for your fist $back and allow days for processing! Good luck if any of that works out) When I asked why we would not get the $card, he rudely told us that we did not complete the minute tour I said that was your idea not ours, he said it did not matter When I said fine lets see the rest of the tour, he screamed I don't want to give you the tour, then gave us the $card
I cannot speak to how nice the Resort is as we never got to see it, but I can tell you that the sales job to get you to join and the promised free gifts are a scam The last gentleman was very rude to us and I would not recommend anyone to fall for this sales scheme
