Review: RC worst sold a motor to me over the phone for a lake fountain. The motor did not last one year before the shaft broke in two. I was told by [redacted], that the manufacturer would have to replace it after an investigation. This motor was advertised as stainless steel and for use in fountains. The shaft of this motor is not stainless steel and is made obvious by looking at the broken shaft. It is clearly chrome plated over common steel. I received an email stating that the motor was not intended for use in a lake fountain by the manufacturer. R.C. [redacted] does not even sell the motor the manufacturer, [redacted], recommends although their web site clearly states " fountains". RC [redacted] is taking no responsibility at all and refused to replace the motor until after an investigation. The motor was sent to them to investigate. That was over three months ago and over one hundred dollars in shipping charges. When they got the motor, they claim that the package was damaged, the broken shaft was lost, and the damaged carton was thrown away. But, they are still doing an investigation. Because this has gone on so long, I have had no choice but to buy another motor from another company. This motor cost $ 913.00 dollars. R.C. [redacted] has falsely advertised this motor, has asked for more time to do an investigation of why this motor broke, has given me a two page history lesson of how reputable their company is, has lost the parts that broke, threw away the damaged carton and told me I may have installed it incorrectly. I am a master electrician certified in Three states. I am an electrical instructor also certified in three states by each state's governing body. I have extensive training in my field and have over 27 years in the field doing nothing but this type of work. I am an expert not an equipment salesman. R.C. [redacted] has done everything in their power to avoid replacing this motor. Now they are doing everything in their power to avoid a refund.Desired Settlement: Full refund of purchase price and shipping. Approx.. $1,200.00
