Review: In April 2013 Mershon replaced our front steps with a pre-casted set of steps. After that winter we noticed that the stairs were starting to peel and crack, right next to the railings. We called numerous times to speak to someone about the problem and finally they came out to evaluate the situation. They told us because it was a harsh winter and that we had used rock salt (which we hadn't) that the steps were deteriorating and that they would replace them at no cost to us. We also had our sidewalk replaced at the same time, from another company, and had no problems with that concrete deteriorating. In June 2014 we received a letter that they would replace the steps but it wasn't until November 12, 2014 that they finally replaced them with another pre-cast set of steps. They had placed a bright orange sticker on the steps informing us that rock salt should not be used because it would make the steps deteriorate. We, again, did not use rock salt this past winter and in the spring we noticed that the steps were yet again cracking and peeling. This time even worse than the first set of steps. We emailed the company, with pictures, in April of this year and heard nothing. In June an employee came out to see the steps but did not ring the doorbell and when we went to open the door to speak with the employee, he was back in his truck and driving away. We emailed again on July 11 and September 7, with no response and then called the office on October 6th and spoke to a secretary. We were told someone would contact us and as of today, November 7, we have not heard back from anyone at Mershon.Desired Settlement: We would like the steps replaced or a refund for the price of the first set of steps, approximately $1750.
