Review: Asked co to repair my big screen tv they came to my house took the conversion board out says he repaired it I get the board back and I still hav the same problem .Desired Settlement: $500.00

Review: Rich at 216-531-6198 is a liar, thief and takes advantage of seniors. He came out 11/8/2013 & 11/20/13 to pick up a tv sound board that needed repair. I gave him a check for $249.5 the first visit and the second visit $183.55 for parts. He left me a with a receipt for total cost of the repair which was paid in full. After this I didn't hear from him for weeks. I finally called him and he told me that he couldn't find the parts. I asked him why he hadn't followed up in which he gave an excuse. From that point on it was us calling him every other week being given the run around from the parts are hard to find, the tv is too old, only flatscreen parts can be found in this age, there's too much snow outside etc. It is now March 11, 2014 and he has not returned my part. He recently told me that I needed to pay $75 to a third party to come pick up my tv, take it to him so that he can install the part. My grandaughter told him that was unacceptable and he needed to pay the guy because this was NEVER discussed in the beginning. He told her he'd give the guy a call and he'd call her back. That was over 3 weeks ago. Today my grandaughter and I called him and he told us he called the guy with the truck and the guy didn't even want to talk to him. My grandaughter replied "that is not our issue and you should have contacted us to follow up." She informed him that we are not responsible for additional payments to third parties because this was not part of my contract with him. He proceeded to say he told me this when he came to my home and I probably didn't hear him...he made comments about me being old. My grandaughter replied "Yes she is in her 80s & hears very well & communicates very well, in fact better than you!" He became very rude and he told us if we wanted the part we can drive to Mentor to pick it up because his van needs a transmission and he doesn't know when it will be fixed. This is OUTRAGEOUS. He is trying to take advantage of me because of my age. He is unprofessional and dishoneDesired Settlement: I would like my money refunded and the part to my tv returned to allow me to find a professional to repair it. I am willing to take him to court if necessary.

A serviceman was sent to Ms. [redacted]'s home on 11/8/13. The serviceman checked out Ms. [redacted]'s TV, finding that a module needed to go into the repair shop. Ms. [redacted] was informed the labor / estimate fee would be $185.00 plus parts. Ms. [redacted] was informed at that point, the labor fee was needed to be paid "up front", as many customers send their TV parts to our shop & we spend time to repair them & they don't want them back again, creating a waste of time & monies.
