All work was completed per the contractThese customers are claiming that $of ground preparation was not done when in fact all of the delivered topsoil was in fact spread and the ground prepared for hydroseedThat is exactly what ground prep is, thenspreading of soil in preparation for the seedOnce they said they were not going to pay for the additional work they requested we come back and do above and beyond the bid, yes the crew stopped work and left becasue we were not going to complete $worth of work that was going to be left unpaid forWe gave these folks many bids over many months as they changed things and did things themselvesThe final bid was signed and completed in full and paid in fullNo refund will be given

Here is the bottom line: An estimate was given for services, the services were completed and paid for. We were asked to come back the following week and provide additional services not covered on the estimate. Customer called and said he did not believe he should have paid for the portion of the estimate labeled "ground prep" and that with the additional work they were doing that day should not be charged for. Office Manager explained that ground prep was the bobcat time moving, spreading the topsoil and the guys raking out the dirt to prepare for the seedHe still insisted that days work should be free. The person at the job site spoke with the wife and she said the same. Person on site told her he was not going to do anything further until it was straightened out and for them to CALL to schedule an appointment for that to happen because he did not feel comfortable doing work that it seemed they were saying they were not going to pay for. Services rendered were paid for and absolutely zero refund is due or will be paid

"Ground prep" is simply now being defined inaccurately by the business The original bid amount included a thorough walk-through of the project area by someone other than the business owner who would later come out to do the actual work During that bid process the job site included a children's play area, surrounded by railroad ties and concrete-anchored fencing and covered in hundreds of pounds of bark/mulch We (homeowners) ended up doing all of the labor to remove that and get the area to bare ground We even incurred out of pocket dumping costs in taking the large trailer full of this debris to the transfer station due to it being overweight
We also never, ever said we weren't going to pay for the additional work As already stated in my original complaint, I called their home office at the time they were out doing the second day of work because my wife called me and said that the requested fee was now being given as twice as high as what I was verbally quoted during the first jobI wanted to clarify this and also express my concern that we thought we were over-charged for the first day of work The receptionist specifically asked if I was planning on not paying for the work and I told her that was not what I was saying, just that I wanted our situation reviewed and would like to speak with the original employee that bid the job I was told that he was unavailable and already "stressed out" right then because he had been yelled at by another customer earlier that morning I can only assume that she then immediately called the owner who was at the job site and told him something completely different His rude and unprofessional response in leaving the site a complete mess left my wife in tears

These customers are claiming that $300 of ground preparation was not done when in fact all of the delivered topsoil was in fact spread and the ground prepared for hydroseed. Once they said they were not going to pay for the additional work they requested we come back and do above and beyond the bid, yes the crew stopped work and left becasue we were not going to complete $400 worth of work that was going to be left unpaid for. We gave these folks many bids over many months as they changed things and did things themselves. The final bid was signed and completed in full and paid in full. No refund will be given.

R & J Landscaping has a contract with [redacted] to do their landscaping for the houses they build. We built and bought a [redacted] and had R & J do our landscaping for us. The front of the house is done for free via [redacted] but we paid $2500.00 for the back yard. This included having underground sprinklers and hydro-seed. The short story is the sprinkler placement was not well thought out, the hydro-seed quality is poor, they do not provide good customer service and they also won't fix any problems that may arise. I am a family man and I don't like to waste my time writing reviews online, but I don't want anyone else to waste their time or money on this company. [redacted] sells some amazing fertilizer for inexpensive if you are having trouble growing grass that has been hydro-seeded twice like ours.

R&J did our landscaping at our new house in [redacted] and we were so pleased with everything and how professional they were, we could not have had a better experience!!! We would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for landscaping work to be done!!

My husband and I bought a house back in September of 2014 and Closed in December with a home building company in Post falls. We had no issues until we got to the yard because we closed in December we were told we would be bumped to the last spot to get our house finished because they had to complete the yards of other homes in order to close. I was not happy about this because it has been a pain to deal with ever since. They are very rude over the phone, the front desk lady knows nothing about what is going on with their jobs, and always told me she didn't know what they were doing. Their actual landscaping manager is nice, but he didn't knock on our door and tell us he was starting a project. Something I find very rude. There were two workers, who complained the whole entire day and I could hear them from my window complaining about my job. I'm sorry if you don't like what you are doing go find something else to do I don't want to hear about you complaining all day. Especially when I have a family to care for inside. The hydroseed I have heard bad reviews on I will reserve judgment until our yard grows. Until then I would not recommend working with this landscaper if you can avoid them. They are not good people to work with.
