Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The message is an exact copy and paste of the response to a Facebook review that was posted by my wifeThat shows me that they are not taking this seriously and are handling it in a lazy mannerWhat’s more, is that the response holds informationan example is that they say I only put miles on my truck between the day I picked it up and the day I got strandedBut I picked up my truck in Franklin and drove home to Burlington, then got stranded the next morning halfway to RacineAnother example Is that they say they explained everything to me, but they only explained what I originally wrote in my complaintSadly this response is the actual most I have heard them explain anything to me, which I find humorousWhy couldn’t they take the time when they had my truck in their shop? A good business should be able to handle this professionally and not have to try to defend themselvesThat just proves to me that they are trying hard to cover themselves because they know they were at faultI do not appreciate them lying and not listening and accepting what they did and learning from it to make their business better for future customersThat is what I am going through all of this forI could be asking for my money back, but I’m simply choosing to protect future patrons Regards, [redacted]

I did post the same response here that I posed to the Facebook and Google slanderous reviews My facts have not changed, unlike the stories posted by the Harris’ Stating he was not called is false He was contacted and approved of all the work performed It was his insistence that he take the truck before we had time to do a proper test drive is why we did not find the failure of the part we installed and why he was stranded That is why we do extended test drives MrHarris stated that the oil pump we installed failed due to oil contamination That is false We went out of our way to do the warranty repairs beyond what was necessary He again came early to pick up his truck and insisted he take it home that night, causing us to stay open late and complete the work Over one month later he brought the truck back expecting more warranty work After we explained that unrelated problems would not be covered he took the truck back Then he brought the truck back to us disassembled claiming the same thing went wrong again We checked even farther into the oil system to find any “oil contamination” and found none The problem he was having at that time was electrical and not oil system related We reassembled the truck back to running condition and he refused to pay us for our time and diagnostic work

All the work performed for Mr*** was done with his approval. We have come to settlement agreements with him multiple times. He signed our invoices and signed the credit card receipts accepting the work performed and agreed to the payments. He is now trying to collect money that is not due to him

On 11/16/17 Shane Harris dropped off his 2005 Ford F250 after hours.  The mileage reading was [redacted].  He stated on the drop off envelope the reason for service was it would crank but not start.  We performed our diagnostic procedures and determined there was low oil pressure on the...

high side of the system.  We checked for a faulty Injection Control Pressure sensor.  It passed.  Then we checked for leakage in the high-pressure oil system and did not find any.  We then inspected the Injection Pressure Regulator and found metal shavings in the screen and had pierced the screen.  We contacted Shane and explained that the High-Pressure Oil Pump that is controlled by and flows oil into the Injection Pressure Regulator was failing and was the source of the metal shavings that were in the Injection Pressure Regulator.  The lack of high-pressure oil and a contaminated Injection Pressure Regulator was causing the no start condition.  We also informed Shane that the EGR valve was full of carbon. We also told Shane there was a mouse nest under the hood.  We recommended replacing the High-Pressure Oil Pump and Injection Pressure Regulator, performing an oil change, repairing the EGR problems, and removing the mouse nest.  Shane approved those repairs on 11/17/17.During the repairs we found the intake manifold was also badly contaminated with carbon and we would need extra time to clean it out.  We contacted Shane and he agreed to the additional charge. On 11/21/17 Shane showed up to get his truck.  We explained that we had not finished it yet and we did not test drive the truck.  He told us he could not wait any longer and need the truck back now.  We finished assembly of the truck and released it to him.On 11/22/17 the truck was towed back to our shop because it stalled while driving.  The mileage reading was 173140.  We inspected the truck and we determined the High-Pressure Oil Pump we installed was faulty.  We replaced the pump and Injection Pressure Regulator with ones from Ford, instead of the Alliant Power unit that was used originally.  The oil and oil filter were changed.  Shane showed up that same day to get his truck, insisting that he had to have it back right away.  We explained to him we wanted to test drive it to prevent issues like this one from happening to him.  He understood and waited until we got the truck together after hours.  We did not charge Shane for the work performed. On 12/30/17 we found the truck in our lot.  We tried to start it and it would not due to dead batteries.  While we were charging them, Shane showed up and we told him we needed to charge the batteries and then perform additional testing if needed.  Shane did not want us to do any additional work and took the truck.  We did not charge Shane for the work performed. On 1/04/18 the truck was towed back to us with a no start complaint.  Shane told us there was metal in the Injector Pressure Regulator.  The mileage reading was [redacted].  We inspected the vehicle and found the engine was disassembled to the point of removing the Injector Pressure Regulator.  We found the screen in the Injector Pressure Regulator was pushed in, but no metal present.  We did find six trouble codes pertaining to electrical problems, and no oil pressure problems.  We talked to Shane and he told us to disassemble the engine further to inspect the oil cooler and oil cooler screen.  We did so and found the oil cooler screen was torn, but no signs of metal particles.  We drained the oil from the truck and strained it all through a clean white shop rag.  No signs of metal particles were found.  We inspected the oil filter and found no signs of metal particles.  We talked to Shane and told him our findings.  He authorized us to reassemble the engine using a new screen for the oil cooler and the Injection Pressure Regulator Valve.  With everything reassembled the engine started and we drove it for an extended test drive.  The engine ran but had a misfire problem.  Eight trouble codes returned for injector and electrical problems.  We did duplicate a no start condition and found the Fuel Injection Control Module was not synchronizing with the cam and crankshaft sensors.  We tried a replacement Fuel Injection Control Module and found the factory connectors at the module were broken.  With the replacement installed the engine started but still had a misfire on cylinder number six.  We called Shane on 1/06/18 to discuss our findings, but he did not answer or return our call.On 1/08/18 Shane came in to pickup his truck.  We explained to him our findings and that the truck was not reassembled from the latest testing.  The Fuel Injection Control Module was not installed, and the number six injector problem needed further diagnostic time.Shane insisted on taking his truck as is and refused to pay for the work he authorized, and we performed.Shannon R Harris is completely wrong with her review of Huckstorf Diesel online.  Stating that this was a “simple fix” and claiming we were charging for warranty work is untrue.  We did install a pump and IPR valve under warranty with no charge to the customer.  As a side note, the pump was not faulty and passed testing, but we performed the larger job of replacing the pump and IPR anyways out of an abundance of caution.  Claiming we did not “decontaminate the oil” is false because the oil was changed each time we had the truck.  Stating that we were the unprofessional party after he demanded the truck be returned before we were finished is wrong.  We could have found these electrical problems sooner if we were given the chance.  This truck had more than one problem which is not unusual.  Shane Harris did not pay us anything except for the first invoice.  Even after we had to reassemble the truck from someone else working on it, dig deeper into the engine to prove there was no metal shaving problem, and finding and describing the additional electrical issues the truck had, Shane did not compensate us for our work that he had authorized!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It is clear that this business does not take offense well.  I know that I am being honest in my complaint, otherwise I would not be going through this entire process.  I made it clear that I only want the business to realize their wrongdoings and fix it for future patrons.  It's evident that they are missing the point completely.  An honest and professional business would admit their wrongdoing and move along.  My experience was terrible and I do not appreciate the constant lies over their mistakes.  They did NOT call me like they said they would. 80% of communication over phone call was me contacting them.  I absolutely did not approve of the illegal EGR Delete. When I paid a visit to the shop, they had it already installed and claimed they had my permission. They knew they did not, which is why they chose to not charge me for it, or so they say.  So when they say I did not pay for (parts) put into my truck, that is what they are referring to. I am also attaching the warranty claim from Alliant Powers showing the proof of the oil pump failing due to oil contamination.  It states it very clearly.  So I'm not sure how they can still continue with this lie. The claim also shows the mileage difference which catches them, again, in another lie.  Their response to the review (also the response they copy and pasted to this site) says I drove 4 miles.  The claim states otherwise. So again, I am not asking for anything material in this matter, simply just admitting their fault. I cannot help but think this happens to a lot of other customers because they are very quick to try to fire back without knowing the complete facts. I only hope that, in the end, this prevents any further bad business from this shop.

This customer recently purchased his car through Craig's List.  The person who sold him the car found on the internet that there was a problem with some VW cars where the ECM programming caused a hard start hot condition.  We represent [redacted] tuning who makes custom tunes for these cars....

The person selling the car and asked me if [redacted] could make a program to fix the hard start hot problem in the ECM tuning.  I contacted [redacted] and shared the response I got from [redacted] which he stated that there was a problem with some VW cars that a new computer program would fix.  The person who sold the car to the person making the complaint against us is the one who made the determination that the computer was the problem and a new program would be the fix.  I was contacted by the new owner to schedule the tuning.  When he came into our business I gave him multiple options for tuning levels and he agreed to pay for a tune to both fix the hard start hot program issue in the tuning, and to improve performance.  At no time did Huckstorf Diesel do any diagnostic work on his car or make any promises that the new tune would cure all of the cars problems.  As it turns out the tuning he requested us to install did not fix the problem with the car.  I offered to have our technicians do a proper diagnostic check at 1/2 of our normal fee.  He declined.  We can not be held responsible for someone else's diagnostic work that they did from reading forums on the internet.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The message is an exact copy and paste of the response to a Facebook review that was posted by my wife. That shows me that they are not taking this seriously and are handling it in a lazy manner. What’s more, is that the response holds false information... an example is that they say I only put 4 miles on my truck between the day I picked it up and the day I got stranded. But I picked up my truck in Franklin and drove home to Burlington, then got stranded the next morning halfway to Racine. Another example Is that they say they explained everything to me, but they only explained what I originally wrote in my complaint. Revdex.comRE:   ID of [redacted]Mr. [redacted] is a customer of ours and has been since 12/18/2004.  In March of this year he brought a 2000 Ford Excursion to or facility for repairs.  He had recently purchased the vehicle.Invoice H110731 March 31, 2017 This is...

the invoice with the disputed amount.  We did repairs to his vehicle that included replacing the cylinder head gaskets.  Mr. [redacted] approved the repairs and signed both our invoice and the credit card receipt.Invoice H111281 April 15, 2017 Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle back to us with a complaint of oil in the coolant reservoir.  He also said there was fuel in the engine valley and found a loose bolt in the valley.  He stated the front bumper cover was damaged.  We performed a diagnostic check and found that the engine oil cooler was installed improperly.  We did not touch the oil cooler during the work performed on invoice H110731.  We spoke with Mr. [redacted] and received approval to repair the oil cooler because it could be the problem.  After those repairs and flushing of the coolant system the oil contamination remained.  We contacted Mr. [redacted] and told him we would replace the cylinder head gaskets again at no charge under warranty.  Mr. [redacted] authorized us to do so.  During this work, we found leaks coming from the fuel filter assembly and from the turbocharger pedestal.  These were cause of the fluids in the engine valley.  We contacted Mr. [redacted] and received authorization to repair those problems that were not part of the work we had done previously.  A new bumper cover was installed to resolve that complaint. The total Mr. [redacted] authorized was $1121.47.  When he came in to pick up his vehicle he changed his mind and did not want to pay for the work we performed that was not related to the first invoice.  As a customer relations gesture, we came to an agreement with him to reduce the charges by $445.74 and he signed our invoice and credit card receipt for $675.73.Invoice H111418 April 18, 2017 Mr. [redacted] returned to our shop stating his air conditioning was not working.  He also wanted a refund for diesel fuel used.  We recharged his air conditioning and made sure it was working properly.  We did issue him a $103.49 refund for diesel fuel to resolve that complaint.  We did take the vehicle on extended test drives to be sure there were no more problems.  We heard a noise coming from the front end and stopped driving the vehicle.  We told Mr. [redacted] about the noise and told him we could not and did not recommend driving the vehicle.  He came in and test drove the truck anyway and when he came back the problem had gotten much worse.Mr. [redacted] has made two disputes with our credit card company.  The first for $1535.76 from the March 31st transaction and the second for $572.24 from the April 15th transaction.  Neither of these are justified and we are in the process of collections for these amounts.  For him to want further reimbursement through this process is more proof of the fraud he is trying to pull off.[redacted] Diesel has a one year workmanship guarantee on all work we perform.  In this case we demonstrated that by not charging him to do any work twice.  We made every effort to accommodate Mr. [redacted] and resolved all his concerns.  Even after he agreed to the charges and then changed his mind we went above and beyond to come to an agreement with him which included multiple discounts and refunds.  All of his concerns have been resolved and he has no reason to get additional money returned to him.Thank you,[redacted]
