to whom it may concern: we were hired to do some work on her old barn that was in a state of disrepair Apparently her husband had recently passed and she was concerned with the deteriorating condition of the barn we had a nice conversation and I agreed to help her with the barn and its exposure to the elements this would entail the installation of some old windows and doors her husband had left over, installed into the current openings that were exposing the interior of the barn loft area I felt that since the homeowner was in a state of distress I would enclose the openings with the old material to secure the barn loft from exposure to the weather Unfortunately the doors and windows were not functioning properly and would require a patch work retro fit in order accomplish securing the loft from the weatherDuring the installation, I informed the homeowner that the doors would not close properly and that although they would open , they would be difficult to operate she agreed that the primary objective of the job was to secure the loft from the weather and improve the exterior appearance of the barn The door opening was approximatey feet off the ground and opened into mid air There was no exterior landing or access to the doors and they should never be opened for human passageway it would be a hazard for the doors to be used as a conventional passageway we proceeded with the installation under those guidelines After the job was completed and painted the homeowner paid us approximately for the retrofit installation of one double door unit, two double hung windows on a second floor with no ready access from exterior prime, seal and top coat two tone paint After the job was completed, we sat on the porch with the homeowner and she was very pleased with the new appearance of the barn We painted it two tone and it looked great She paid with a check and thanked us for our work Later we were informed that she had contacted a contractor who said our work was not done well and she wanted her money back We tried to console her and offered to come back and remedy the problems if warranted She declined our offer

to whom it may concern: as I have stated from day 1, we are willing to come back and rectify the situation regarding ms [redacted] job we stand behind our work 100% we would be happy to come back and make the necessary adjustments to the job thanks, [redacted] [redacted] ***

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution. Please respond here ONLY]I have said from the beginning that I want a refund. The door now has been comprised (screws put through the medal-clad doors on the exterior side. Doors are so wracked, they do not function properly). Mr. Ronald has been very defensive about his work. He has lied to you (BBB) and tried to convince Home Advisers it was all my fault; that I had told him to install the doors this way. I showed him the new doors and windows and let him proceed with the installation. I have never installed double doors before, am not a carpenter. That's why I wanted a professional to do the job. I do not want Mr. Ronald on these premises ever again. If he were permitted to come back to redo the installation (which is impossible at this point), it will still cost him $1000 having missed a day of work. Regards, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Ronald has a few mistakes in his reply to you. As you can see from the pictures above, this is not an "old barn", but instead is an attractive multi-purpose 60' building. One picture shows how close it is to our house. The loft doors and windows Ronald put in are on the end close to the house. The windows he installed were not "left over old." They were brand new still with stickers on them. Ronald did not use old material to make the doors fit. In fact he charged me $for new material. (His price for installation and painting was $950, making a total of $1,I paid him.) Therefore, with the new material, he could have used the flanges. Yes, it looks good, but when different contractors saw the work he had done, they both agreed it was shoddy work and would not pass inspection. We also did not talk about his nailing the threshold down through the metal lip and rotted wood. (I was not aware the doors had their own threshold.)

to whom it may concern:  we were  hired  to do some work on her old barn that was in a state of disrepair.  Apparently her husband had recently passed and she was concerned with the deteriorating condition of the barn.  we had a nice  conversation and I agreed to help...

her with the barn and its exposure to the elements.  this would entail the installation of some old windows and doors her husband had left over, installed  into the current openings that  were  exposing the interior of the  barn loft area.   i felt that since the homeowner  was in a state of distress I would enclose the openings with the old material to secure the barn loft from exposure to the weather.  Unfortunately the doors and windows were not functioning properly and would require a patch work retro fit  in order accomplish securing the loft from the weather. During the installation,  i informed the homeowner that the doors would not close properly and that although they would open , they would be difficult to operate.  she agreed that the primary objective of the  job was to secure the loft from  the weather and improve the exterior appearance of the barn.  The door opening was approximatey  10 feet off the ground and opened into mid air.  There was no exterior landing or access to the doors and they should never be opened for human passageway.  it would be a hazard for the doors to be used as a conventional passageway.     we proceeded with the installation under those guidelines.   After the job was completed  and painted the homeowner  paid us approximately 1000.00 for the retrofit installation of one double door unit, two double hung windows  on a second floor with no ready access from exterior.  prime, seal and top coat two tone paint.   After the job was completed,   we sat on the porch with the homeowner  and she was very pleased with the new appearance of the barn.  We painted it two tone  and it looked great.   She paid with a check and thanked us for our work.   Later we were informed that she had contacted a contractor who said our work was not done well and she wanted her money back.  We tried to console her and offered to come back and remedy the problems if warranted.  She declined our offer.
