R. Kash Construction Reviews (2)

I signed a contract on a home project with R Kash Construction in March of 2013 and I paid Mr. K[redacted] an initial payment of $1380 on 3-20-2013. However, Mr. K[redacted] intentionally did not start the project and did nothing on the project for 3 months even after my 8 written requests. I had to terminate the contract. Mr. K[redacted] never wanted to return the money he received. His Clovercroft has been for sale and he is not living there.
Mr. K[redacted] is a rude person as you have seen from another complain here at Revdex.com. He has refused all the peaceful resolutions I have suggested. Mr. K[redacted] likes to lie and threat. He made a ridiculous lie claiming he came to my home18 times and spent 80 hours there in drafting and revising the contract, and threatened me he would put thousands of dollars lien on my property for the time he spent on the contract drafting. I wish he had done that as I would have known his living address. I believe even his friend (my tenant) living there then would laugh at him.

Beware of his politeness! Beware of his politeness!

Contract was signed on Nov 28, 2014 and was promised verbally he would start working on Dec. 2 or 3 of 2014 and would complete the project no later than Dec. 5. He said it would only take a day and half to finish the project from the time he started.

He can waste your time and won't keep his part of his own contract agreement. He kept dragging his feet and never showed up to work and he always gave excuses until I told him I would get someone else and I requested for my partial advanced payment refund. Don't pay him any amount in advance. I did that which was a mistake. My one and a half days repair project took him almost three weeks to complete.

In the middle of the project he asked for more money.

Many occasions when he did show up to work (mostly late), he would remain in his truck for hours and then would work for one or two hours.

He became rude to me and my wife when we did not oblige his request in giving him a key to our house. He said everyone trusted him why couldn't we? He wanted to come and go as desired.

[redacted] has a way with words and would find ways to insult you when he became upset with anything.

My wife and I were very patient and accommodating. We just wanted the project to be completed on time as promised. Not to delay further, I had to give him a cut-off-date and he was upset with this.

What happened next? Dec. 19, 2014, at around 11 a.m. he called me on the phone and claimed he had finished all works. He demanded for immediate balance (with extra money) final payment. I told him I was still in office but I could leave around 4 p.m.
but I needed to inspect his works done with satisfaction according to the contract. I said I would mail him the balance. He refused to accept this answer and he demanded payment to him by 4 p.m.. He was ugly with me on the phone.

I left work earlier and arrived home around 3:30 p.m. and waited for him. To avoid further issues, I called a church friend of mine, who is also an elder in a church, to be around as a witness that day. My friend came but [redacted] didn't show up. [redacted] texted me saying he would be at my house at 4:30. In order not to waste time waiting for [redacted], my friend left.

Guess what? [redacted] didn't show up until 5:30 p.m.. He didn't show up on time. He was an hour and half late. When he came he started yelling at me. I told [redacted] that I had just called my friend to be a witness and mediator and my friend was on his way. A few minutes later, my friend arrived. When [redacted] saw him he started yelling at my friend and making threats to me about taking me to court. My friend managed to calm him down.

My friend, who is also an elder in a church, advised me to go ahead and make the final payment and move on. Knowing the fact that [redacted] was unreasonable and took advantages over me. I took my friend advise and wrote a check with the full balance plus the the extra money to R. Kash Construction instead of his personal name. [redacted] wasn't happy about this.

Life is not always fair and right. But still take heed that If you are looking for a reliable contractor, look elsewhere! [redacted] is definitely not the one to consider.

Is [redacted] a good carpenter? To be fair, I would say yes, he is. He did show good skills with woods. But as a businessman, he still has a long way to go.

Unless you can put up with procrastinating behavior and sensitive temper, good luck to you if you still desire to hire him.

Most of all, he didn't clean up the debris and mess he left on the grounds. You would be the one to scan the grounds for nails and clean up debris he left after jobs done.

He is out of my life now. No more contract with him. I hope you won't be the next person in line to experience what my wife and I had to go through with him.
