The first time the roof leaked it was caused by a tree branch that blew from a neighbors tree and punched a hole in the roof. I fixed the problem and didn't charge him for it. This new problem was wind damage to the metal coping on his parapet walls.  This was not a result of poor work but natural causes. We would have replaced it with a charge to the owner of the building. We have had no problems with this roof for 4 years and don't appreciate the fact that he is giving us a bad review. If that roof was done wrong there would be constant problems. Therefore we don't feel we have any responsibility for wind damage and don't owe him anything. O

Revdex.com:   All I wanted was for the owner to respond to my calls which was numerous because he would never call me back and this has been a problem with this business ever since he completed the job and I have had problems from the beginning and it took almost 4 to 6 months and threats to get him to finally return my call and go over at which time he told me the problem was due to leaves over the drains   Not about a stick putting a whole in the rubber.  This was a brand new roof.   When he said about the leaves clogging the drain I told him that I would be willing to pay him to go over and check the roof yearly which he never responded too or did.   His response as to no problems for 4 years is a lie.  I was constantly calling Ray but he just ignored my calls.   Since he would not respond I had to call a professional long time roofer and when he went up and saw the job he asked me if the roofer had ever done a flat roof before.   I had him take pictures of all the sub par work and I have at least ten or more.   I had him repair the sub par work.   He said the rubber up the parapet walls did not go all the way up and over so that was one problem and around the vent pipes he had to redo due to poor workmanship.   Ray can lie all he wants but my experience is all he wants it to do poor work and run.   You will never get service all he's gone.   If I have to I will take him to the local magistrates and sue him for the damage.   I told him that on my last message after the professional went up and told me that I was going to continually have problems with this roof due to poor workmanship.  If he would of called me we would not have these problems.   I am a reasonable person but don't appreciate a contractor who does a job and will not respond to problems.   This has been going on since the day he completed the job.

Review: This roofer accepted an $1,800 deposit for siding work in 2013. He absconded with the funds and never did any work. Repeated phone calls were unsuccessful. He is a crook! I reported this theft to the office of the Attorney General in Pittsburgh. This office did not help me, but it reported that J&L Roofing was under investigation -- never heard anymore from the Attorney General.Desired Settlement: I want a refund.

the truth of the matter is that when I contracted with the customer we had not set a start date until I finished a job that I was doing on his street, and I told him that we would start at that time. however we ran into a labor problem and was forced to delay the job that I was on, and I told mr [redacted] that his job would be delayed. a short time after he wanted to cancel his job, and I informed him that we had a contract and I expected him to honor that but he did not want to. as time went on we had not talked about the job and winter hit. I am sorry that it has come to this and am willing to cancel the job and give mr [redacted] a full refund thank you.
