July 15,2014
ID# [redacted]

ATT: [redacted]
We have been in business for 21 years, with no complaints, Problems, or letters to the Revdex.com.
As for the Job for the [redacted] Home, we signed a contract in Sept of 2012, Stating the kinds of material that we would be using on the new home, and they agreed.
The pillars: They Showed us a picture of the pillars that they wanted, the pillars were made from painted wood with rock at the bottom. We told The [redacted] that they were painted, they stated they would not mind painting them as needed. I made one pillar out of wood, Put it up and they loved it, had the rest of the pillars made and installed, primed and painted to the color that they wanted.
A few months after the completion of the job [redacted] called and stated that the paint on the pillars was bubbling and blistering, we were busy at the time, told them as soon as we could we would be there. Winter set in and it got very cold we could not do anything till spring. As soon as the weather was fit we repaired, scraped Appoxied, recaulked and repainted the 4 front pillars, at that point we thought that they were pleased with the outcome since we had heard nothing from them, until [redacted] left a message on a cell phone that is not are pri[redacted] number, on a Holiday weekend, (July
4) Stating that they needed to talk to us face to face about issues that they were having, (a year after completion of the home).
We did not receive the message until the following Tuesday and received this letter on Thursday
We would be willing to replace the pillars if they supple the material to do so.
Vinyl Trim: We were under the understanding that the homeowners had filed a claim with mastic company about the buckling Since the [redacted]’s are the ones who wanted to use the vinyl Instead of the alumin that we suggested they use.
We had made arrangements for Bill to pick up a piece of the Product from [redacted] in Uniontown to send to mastic.
We would be glad to give them a price to replace the vinyl with alumin.
As For the stacked stone this is the first that we have heard anything about it, and it was installed to factory spects as suggested by the manufacture.
We would be willing to sit down and talk about the above work, But we are not willing to cover the expense of all the material or the labor as all the work had passed all Home and Bank inspections to their satisfaction, As stated in the contract before we received the final payment.

Review: Hired [redacted] of R & M Contracting to build our new home. Construction began in Sept 2012 and completed in July 2013. Upon moving in the wood on the front porch post pillars were already starting to crack. [redacted] advised if they got worse to call. We began calling the next month, emailing and sending letters with no response, to tell him they were in deed getting worse, for example wood cracking, paint bubbling and peeling, and mitered wood pieces coming apart. He would not respond. Winter had come, so in the spring we had to make several attempts, I advised via an email that we did not want him to just caulk up everything and that we wanted split wood replaced. So he and his wife just caulked and painted, to avoid any permanent resolution, so now that attempt to repair is now bubbling, and the wood is separating again. We have left a voice mail and he still refuses to respond. We have other major issues that product reps have advised us are installation related such as the stacked stone, the siding is wavy and that siding rep has not made his determination yet. Our house was several hundred thousand dollars and he claimed to "over build" all his houses, yet he will not stand behind his workmanship. We did not want wood on the porch post pillars from the beginning, but he assured us they would be fine.Desired Settlement: We want the wood porch post pillars replaced with a material that won't split, bubble, peel, crack, or separate, we would want stone or vinyl. We want him to cover the expense of the repair as this was not our fault, since we did not want wood to begin with. We want a meeting face to face to discuss why the stone is cracking, we want him to resolve the wavy siding and trim boards, if we can get new product from the mfg, he should install at no charge.
