RE: Complaint by *** ** *** Response: Customer states that RM Contractors built their home after a fire. This is correctThe insurance company did not want to rebuild the home but rather repair the home. RM Contractors worked with the owners in order to help them build a new home. The electrical work was performed by RM ContractorsThis was not an outside electrician. RM Contractors is Randall B*** & Mark B***Randall B*** did a walk through with the homeowners prior to wiring the home. He was asked to wire for a specific freezer that the homeowners wanted to put in the home. The homeowner decided that they would relocate the freezer to another area and now the complaint is that the circuit will not hold. At one point, they agreed that this was the case and that they would “pay” him to come back and move the outlet. Randall B*** declined to go back to the home because he did not want to do any more work for Mr& Mrs***. Randall B*** had already gone above and beyond to wire their home with upgraded wiring and also took the time to ask them if they wanted specific things such as the wiring for a freezer, etcThis is not typical for this size home. Anyone’s home can result in overloading of circuits if you are using too many things at one time. It’s not a wiring issue but rather a consumer issue. Breakers are for protection against people who don’t know how to use them properly and to avoid fires Please see the information below regarding overloading circuits that was taken from a web article https://***.com/blog/why-does-my-circuit-breaker-keep-trippingA circuit breaker “trips” or shuts off the electrical flow to protect the circuit from overheating and causing damage--even possibly an electrical fireSo, before you go and flip the switch on again, take a moment to determine what the root cause is of the trippingThe three typical causes are: Overloaded Circuit Short Circuit Ground Fault Circuit Overload The circuit overloading is the most common reason your circuit breaker is trippingThat means you’re running too many heavy power consuming devices at the same time on the same circuitFor example, if you have a amp circuit with amps worth of electricity running through that same circuit because your hair dryer, TV and air conditioner were all on at the same time, then the circuit breaker will trip to prevent overheatingThere are two solutions: Redistribute the power-heavy devices on the overloaded circuit to another general purpose circuitTurn off some devices on the circuit to reduce the electrical load Randall B*** will not be returning to the home to do any work, because at this point, they have not been satisfied and he feels that they will never be satisfied with the work he has performed. All electrical work was inspected and approved per SC Code. Thank you for your attention to this matterSincerely, Randall B*** & Mark B***
