How long should it take to build a simple detached two car garage? Many have told me about months, definitely not more than months MONTHS later, all I have in my ripped up back yard is a plywood structure, which has been exposed to the elements for over months now to the point where some of the wood may need to be replaced Issues include: Two failed footing/foundation inspections Three failed framing inspections One failed fire inspection report Follow up communications were often incoherent, unreliable, and delayed Be very careful before hiring R&M Design Group My experience is one of the worst I've ever been through Lessons learned when working with contractors: No large down payments (in my case, he asked for 50% up front) Instead, make smaller payments as sub tasks (electrical, framing, etc.) are completed AND pass inspection

Rip off company, did not deliver as promisedHe (Rick M***) disappeared with money paid, he is no where to be found, none of his phone numbers work including that of his assistant Carol He comes across and a wholesome, southern gentlemanBE AWARE!!!!

We hired H & M Design Group LLC (Rick M***) in late June to start a full renovation on a residential home in AtlantaRick and his crews failed to show up to work on the house very often through-out the entire time working for our companyWe paid roughly 29k to this contractor in advance for each phase of the project and was not truthful in the work that he said was completedWe thought we were in good hands based off of seeing some of his previous projects however this was not the caseRick had been using our money to fund other projects or for his own personal useWe paid him over half of our budget as new rehabbers to the Atlanta market and was taken advantage of by this company due to our lack of knowledgeRick told us several times that we were almost 50-percent complete on projectOnce we built up the courage to fire this contractor after being so invested we discovered with new contractors coming in to complete a bid that we had may 5% of work completedThis was told
