My goal as a business owner is to always have a satisfied customer.
Part of that satisfaction comes from repeat business and working through potential issues with customers. Another part comes from trying to offer the best customer service from the very beginning. This was why I agreed to meet *** at a non standard business time, Sunday. I delayed dinner to take care of him on his time frame preventing him from having to go home after his success in the hunt. I know how exciting that moment can be. Unfortunately despite my best efforts from the beginning, I have been unable to come to a resolution with *** *** despite multiple points of contact back and forth.
I was the one to help *** throughout the transaction because he reached me on my personal cell phone after hours. I stood and did the cutting instructions with him present making all notes while he stood and observed. Many customers confuse the tenderloin with the loin area. I understand that sometimes there is confusion on cutting instructions so I offered to correct the perceived error by grinding the items *** did not want (steaks and butterflied chops). I also offered to butterfly the tenderloin.
The concern I could not take away was the additional sausage given as I can’t remove seasoning so I offered a credit back on this item as stated at $14.85. When I went to apply the credit to the account, I noted that his cape had not been paid for when it was picked up. A deposit had been left but it was not charged against the cape service and was instead charged against the processing service.
I notified *** of the unpaid balance. He then threatened to contact his lawyer and Revdex.com. At this point after trying through several communications to come to a resolution, I asked for him to pick up his meat left in house for further services (summer sausage).
Please note that our basic fee for venison is $120. His bill reflected the various other services he asked for, some of which to preserve the trophy. A deer mount is often over $at the taxidermy shoppe so charging a minimal $for the cape that will be mounted and expecting payment is not excessive.
The customers desired settlement has been acknowledged multiple times: An apology for the miscommunication was immediately done, a credit for the extra seasoning was applied, and his meat left in house for further services was asked to be picked up.
Thank you for your help in working through this concern.
Jessica ***,
Owner
