R & R Roofing & Siding, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Business Response /[redacted]/
Revdex.com / [redacted]
I am sorry to hear of [redacted]'s position for not being a responsible contractor for himself. [redacted] was contacted for detach & reset of the existing panels due to an insurance...

claim roof replacement requiring detach and reset, (photos of the original existing panels and subsequential work necessary to detach & reset exactly as existing condition). The existing panels were not active and [redacted] asked if the customer wanted to make them active, I told him that was not part of the claim, but gave him the customer contact information if he chose to provide additional services to the customer. Any additional work beyond the scope of the insurance claim detach and reset would be between [redacted] and the customer.
Skip to March 2015 when the work took place, [redacted] was contacted by [redacted] our production manager to remove the panels as original requested and then 2 weeks later requested to re-attach. This was all completed verbally with [redacted] per the insurance claim, beings it was just basically a service call amount. We knew nothing of any additional work, nor authorized any such contract for additional work. I did not feel I needed to know the status of any work beyond the insurance claim or between [redacted] & the customer.
Now skip forward to May, when [redacted] issues an invoice to us for a full re-conditioning of the entire system. We paid the amount allowed in the insurance claim for the detach & reset as existing, assuming he just did not want to split up his invoice. Then a couple weeks later on June 2, [redacted] wants to know if I had contacted the customer to let him know he was billing the customer for the additional work. (email doc's attached). I responded with surprise that it was his duty to work with our mutual customer for any additional work beyond the dettach and reset, of which he seems to obiviously disagree by stating we did not dispute an estimate, I had no resaon to dispute it because I did not accept or authorize it. As a contractor for the last 25years, we have never "assumed" a contract was authorized, provided unauthorized services and then expected someone to pay for it. Just because a customer doesn't say no, doesn't mean a contractor can just do whatever work they want and then demand to be paid for it.
In summary response to [redacted] complaint: I have never been stand offish and I request him to please provide any documentation, that myself or staff may have presented to him for work beyond detach & reset, if my staff did make an error, I am more than happy to accept responsiblity and pay him his requested amount. And/or if any of my staff/or project managers misunderstood a situation and gave an email approval that [redacted] mentions of the entire estimate, I will again accept responsibility. If this can not be provided, it is because it did not happen nor has he provided such before taking time to contact the Revdex.com that generally represents customers, not a non member Revdex.com company whose apparent practice is to provide work they want without authorization against a member company. I have reviewed with all staff and staff email involved and can not find his suggested documenation.
Attached is documentation of photos of existing condition for detach & re-set, of one can see is very simple. Also attached is email commmunication from March 2015 for scope of work for solar technician and June 2 email communication of [redacted] requesting I contact the customer to help him get paid for the additional work that obviously no one authorized.
Final summary: A full unconditional lien release has been provided the customer and their mortgage company per the insurance contract between R&R and the customer, as all contractual work is complete and paid in full. Hopefully [redacted] will accept his own lack of responsibility and poor contractor practices of trying to charge a customer for additional work the customer nor contractor ever approved. If he can not, I will take legal action if necessary against [redacted]/dba [redacted] & [redacted] to protect my customer.
Final note: A huge kudo's to the Revdex.com, this is the exact reason companies are members because we all believe if fair customer practice and contracts. This non member contractor obviously does not feel the need to provide this type of customer service, nor be a member of the organization and believes assumptions and unapproved contracts give them legal rights to harass homeowners/customers for unauthorized work.
Respectfully,
[redacted], President/owner

The claimants concerns have been addressed as the attached email and roof inspection report reflect. The active leak was repaired. The inspection report clearly states that the roofing materials are properly installed and that the leaks may be caused by condensation.R&R Roofing has asked if the...

claimant would like to further pursue the cause of the leaking and has suggested possible remedies. As of this date there has been no response.
