Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
His response made no senseHe said I never mentioned the struts when I brought the car back in and mentioned the noiseI'm not a mechanic, that is his jobI also couldn't imagine that after paying over $to replace them months before, I would need new ones put inI trusted that this shop knew what they were doingIt also says on my invoice that the car was road tested after the struts were put inNO WAYA good mechanic would have heard the noiseHe also neglected to mention that he told me the front right noise was because I needed a new axle and bearingHe gave me an outrageous quote for this so that is when I decided to get a second opinionI actually went to two other mechanics who both told me that the front right axle was fineI continued to drive for over a month and the noise and shaking only got worseThat is when I went back to the second opinion mechanic who finally figured out that the struts were defectiveHe also said that he gets his parts from reliable manufacturersI have his struts in the trunk of my carThere is no manufacturer name on themLet him send you the invoice he has when he ordered my struts that give the manufacturer informationIt will also tell us how much he spent on those struts because he charged me $for partsHe also states that he warranties his parts for monthsWhy would I go back to someone who couldn't figure out my diagnosis, overcharged me by a lot and would only put back the cheapest parts in my carThis had become a safety issue for meI travel on the highway every day and eventually my tire would have been chewed up while driving miles an hourI'm not a mechanic and I need to trust the people working on my carThe owner of this shop knows he ordered the cheapest strutsHe also knows that he charges more than any other auto shop in the areaMy car now has *** struts in them and the car is running well

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr. D[redacted]'s response, as usual, does not get to the crux of the matter. This last response was once again "skirting the issue".
It is very clear that Mr. D[redacted] has no intention of refunding my money. Instead of apologizing to me by saying "I charged you 900.00 for struts, which is more than any other mechanic would have charged you, I also put in a cheaper brand and  actually  put you in danger when they became defective and when you came back in and mentioned the noise I misdiagnosed the problem by telling you that the front axle needed replacing. But instead of apologizing he is blaming me for not knowing that the struts were defective.
Mr. D[redacted] runs a local business and has no qualms about marking up parts and labor by more than 100% for his neighbors, so why would I think that he would do the right thing by refunding my money. When a person does not possess a moral compass I can't make him do the right thing.
Mr. D[redacted] has never addressed many of the things I've complained about. I have still not seen the invoice to see how much he actually paid for the struts and what brand they are. I know exactly what he charged me. He also had nothing to say about the fact that he charged me to rotate my tires and then didn't balance them.
RS Automotive is the epitome of what people fear when going to an auto mechanic - being overcharged, getting shoddy work and parts and being told to fix things in the car that don't need fixing.
Mr. D[redacted]'s answer is to blame the customer. It is quite obvious that I'm not getting a refund so I still have every right to go to small claims court and I still have every right to tell my co-workers about my experience should they need any automotive repairs. I have this right just as Mr. D[redacted] has the right to charge whatever he wants with no regard for quality.
Regards,
[redacted]

September 2, 2014
Dear [redacted] is accusing me of "skirting around the answers" but I have been responding to all the issues that she has presented to Revdex.com.She wrote in the complaint to Revdex.com that the problem started on 4/8/2014, the "Very Next Day" after we replaced the strut. We are not skirting the issue but rather we are addressing the point about the problem arising the "Very Next Day". How did she diagnose the strut problem the very next day? Did she have her mechanic diagnose it? She should have at least mentioned that there was a problem with the car to us immediately. We even provide a loaner car to our customers for their convenience at absolutely no cost to them.It appears to me that she herself diagnosed the strut problem but waited almost 2 months to have another mechanic work on her car.In the meantime, she was confident enough with our company to come and request an oil change and report about the check engine light issue.During that visit she mentioned to the service manager, Mr. D[redacted], that she was happy with the work that we performed on her car.
The only concern that she spoke about was that the car was a little loud.In regards to the struts invoice, we are not "skirting around the issue". We are faxing a copy of the invoice from Parts Authority to Revdex.com. It appears that the first invoice copy was not received by Revdex.com. We are requesting that when a copy of this letter is received by Revdex.com, we should be notified as to whether the invoice is attached.According to [redacted], she stated that "it infuriates her that a business would have the audacity to charge hundreds of dollars more than other mechanics and knowingly use parts that are not top of the line".This remark by [redacted] is inaccurate. As stated before, [redacted] has the option to shop around for any type of work that she needs done to her car. She should have gone to other auto repair shops and shopped around like she did after the fact.We did not force her to get the work done at our place of business. We would like proof from [redacted] that the parts that we knowingly used parts that are not top of the line compared to the parts that the other mechanic used. She constantly mentions that fact that she is a single female and that we took advantage of her but she herself is knowledgeable about car parts and knows which is top of the line and which is not.[redacted] has accused us of not ordering the highest quality parts yet charging the highest possible amount to the customers. We are surprised to hear that she is so knowledgeable about what parts we order for our customers. We are confident about the parts we provide our customers and we are listing the name of the Parts Authority representative that supply to most of the auto parts repair shops in the Metropolitan Area. The name of the representative is [redacted]. He can be contacted at:[redacted]We are requesting that the other mechanic provide the same information that we provided to [redacted] (for example, repair invoice and parts invoice). Is [redacted] accusing us of ripping off Senior Citizens? Is this another complaint that she discussed her mechanic? We have loyal Senior Citizens that have been with us for almost 17 years. We treat everyone honestly and with respect. We do not go around making false accusations about anyone.[redacted] accused us of rotating her tires and not balancing them. Our company, as well as most other repair shops, rotate tires but do not balance tires unless the customer request the tire to be balanced.
[redacted] stated that "as he can keep responding that I didn't mention that the struts were no good and I will keep responding that it wasn't my job"We are well aware that [redacted] is not a mechanic, but in order to correctly diagnose her car we needed her to at least communicate with us as to the problem she was having with the st ruts. We are not mind readers.Sincerely
D. D

Review: I had just moved to the area and knew I needed new brake padsI went to RS Automotive and they told me I needed new brake pads and rotorsI told them to rotate my tires tooThey charged me 537.65$ which I felt was high but I needed the work done and they seemed niceWhen I picked up my car they made a note that my struts were leaking and I needed them repaired tooI was quoted approximately $A few weeks later I had the struts repaired and that bill came to $They wrote on the bill that the car was road tested after the struts were put inWhen I drove on the highway the next day I felt the car was shaking a little and there was a slight noise coming from the front right sideNot knowing anything about cars I assumed the car just needed to get used to the new strutsAfter a month or so the shaking got a little worse and the noise was the sameMy check engine light came on and I needed an oil change so I brought the car back to them and I mentioned that the ride wasn't that smooth after the struts were put in so could they check it out after the oil changeThey called me and told me the noise was coming from the front right axle bearing and the check engine light said something was wrong with the oxygen filterHe quoted me $for the repairNow I'm leery so I told them to just change the oilThey charged me $for the oil changeI brought the car across the street to another repair shop who told me that there was nothing wrong with my front axleI drove the car for another month but the noise and ride got so bad that I was very nervous driving on the highway to workI brought the car in to the second repair shopHe test drove the car on the highway, brought it back and asked me when I had gotten new strutsI told him a few months agoHe then told me that the struts were no good and I had him put in new onesApparently the struts that RS Automotive put in were damaged and didn't even have a manufacturers name on itThe second repair mechanic said he didn't even know who made them and if they were maybe refurbishedI got charged $for the new top of the line struts made by a well known manufacturerMy car is now riding beautifullyHow can RS Automotive charge $more than other shops and put in that lowest quality parts? I feel like they prey on single women who might not necessarily know about carsI called them and asked for my money backThey told me I should have brought the car back to them and they would have replaced the struts and they wouldn't give me my money backWhy would I bring my car back to people who are clearly dishonest and then have them put back substandard struts in my carIf you charge over $for struts (which I have later come to find out is outrageous) I expect top quality parts.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund and I would like some agency to monitor these guys$for an oil change and to look at a check engine lightMost places don't even charge to look at a check engine lightI actually met another person who went there and got an estimate for an alternatorThey were smart enough to realize a rip off when they heard itThey went to another shop and got it for half the price
