Company came to house when sitter was there Offered to fix driveway with "leftover" asphalt from a job up the road Sitter called me at work and had man discuss on phone He stated they had about sq yards worth of asphalt left, and they would fix whatever needed to be fixing at $30/square yard
I came home to find that they were working on one of the driveways (as instructed based on information on phone) He said there was more asphalt if I wanted the other portion of the driveway done I said I needed an estimate on the cost He said after the first was finished, we would talk again about cost
I went inside for minutes I came outside and they were already working on the second driveway without estimate of cost as requested The whole thing felt "fishy" by then, but I figured if they had a "bit more than the sq yards" maybe we would be looking at a cost of $to no more than $
They finished that driveway, THEN measured and told me the cost was

This was for a guy that drove up claiming he had "leftover asphalt from a neighbor's job" and he would lay it on my driveway for a discounted rateThis man used scam tactics and unethical business practices throughout our interactionHe lied to me about the product and service he would be providing Although I requested one, he would provide no written estimate or written receipt before or after the work was completedHe told me that laying yards of asphalt would cost me around $ I agreed to it as this sounded like a great deal! Unbeknownst to me, he laid yards on my driveway!! He showed me a calculator showing I owed him and his crew over $4500! He used construction lingo and talked over my head to sway my decision without my husband presentAfter the work was completed (in about minutes), I paid them $CashAnd he demanded more I was bullied into putting $more on a credit card I have NO WRITTEN estimate or receipt I have no evidence of any mea
