R. Webb Excavating Reviews (1)

Review: We had our driveway blacktopped and sidewalks cemented last Fall (late November) by Webb Excavating ([redacted]).. Our cement is fine but our blacktop has buckled and is sinking. He was supposed to finish in April but never showed up and won't return any communication. I am concerned about my Mother (85 years old) walking on the driveway. We have paid in full for the services he invoiced us for and he never sent an invoice for the follow up 2nd coat. He had done a dig with [redacted] when we had new plumbing put in last Fall and said he would repave our drive when they had to dig it up for the plumbing. We had used [redacted] for over 50 years so we trusted them as a team. He has an email attachment on his webpage. This is really urgent. We did just have a paving company come out this morning and they said they can do it but have to dig up what had been done because of the buckling. that cost is $3,500. Please help. Thank you. [redacted]Desired Settlement: We want a driveway that isn't sinking or buckling and that is safe to walk on. We have paid for 75% of this service and want the work to meet codes and done competently.

I would first like to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I never intended to leave your driveway unfinished, as you may recall I requested that we let the driveway settle as much as we could, due to the fact that your sewer line was repaired near the upper edge. The project was started in the Winter months with heavy amounts of precipitation . I put a temporary layer of asphalt, so that you did not have to park on wet stone. This was not part of the original estimate, I did it because I felt that it was the right thing to do. We also re-routed your sump line and mulched your planting bed at no extra charge. It has always been my intent to pave the drive in dryer weather. April and May were not terrific months to pave and as I waited for better, warmer temperatures, we became very busy with other types of work. I know this is not your problem and I should have communicated with you a little better. I don't know if you recall, but I stated that we would come back and pave over the base course for an additional $750.00. If the base course is buckling, I would be happy to remove it and pave it again if everything has finished settling. charge. While I am a little upset with your letter to the Revdex.com, I understand your frustration. We are starting to catch up and the weather is perfect for paving, so if you would like we can complete the job in the next week or so. Please let me know what you would like to do.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We are currently under contract with another paving company to finish the job.
