The contract I signed with R.[redacted] was not honored by him. He did not pay plumber, electrician, town permits, falsely stated he was licensed & issuredI signed a contract on Oct 26, 2013 for renovations on the interior of my house and a 7x24 addition to extend an existing bedroom. I fired R. [redacted] on Feb.XX XXXX. The project was to take two months and was no where near finished in Feb. I paid [redacted] $58564.56, the contract was for $58680.00. The plumber put a lien on my house because [redacted] did not pay him, the electrician asked me to pay him because [redacted] didn't. He never got a building permit, variance or special permit which was needed for the project. The contract stated that [redacted] would be responsible for all permits. I never received materials that I paid for , hardwood flooring, trim boards, doors, closet shelving, and a handicap toilet. The trash was not removed. The new roof he installed leaked so bad the bathroom ceiling fell in. It took three tries for it not to leak then it started leaking in a different spot. My living floor he raised and put hardwood flooring on is so unleveled that I had to remove the back legs on my couch so it would not tip forward. I had pipes freeze because they were not properly insulated. He framed the addition with 2x4s instead 2x6s. [redacted] showed up maybe ten hours a week and constantly gave me excuses why he couldn't come. He bought used and damaged materials which I did not agree to. The building inspector found out about the job and shut it down. [redacted] then went and found [redacted] who had a license and used his license for a building permit. This was three months into the job, That building permit was never paid for. I have spent a total of $15140.94 since firing him on materials and labor to have the job finished which includes permit fees and a $2300.00 lien by [redacted] refuses to reimburse me for anything and can't believe I fired him. The quality of his work was terrible and he constantly lied and misrepresented his business to me.Desired SettlementI would like a $15000.00 refund

I hired this company to renovate my bathroom and to refinish a hardwood floor. The floor was completed, but he never paid the subcontractor who performed the work. With the bathroom, he installed a new tub and vent fan, but never completed the rest of the work, which included installing a new vanity, vanity top, sink and faucet, cabinet, re-plastering the ceiling, and fixing ceramic floor tiles which he improperly installed. I paid him to order a vanity, vanity top, cabinet, and faucet, which totaled almost [redacted] The work was originally started in March, and it is now June. Every time I would contact him, he had some excuse as to why he hasn't finished yet. I have tried to contact him numerous times in the past three weeks, and have received no response. I have finally given up, and have re-ordered the materials and will be finding a legitimate contractor to do the work. If this complaint doesn't resolve the issue, I also plan on taking him to small claims court.Desired SettlementI would like to get my money back for the materials that I paid for, as well as any labor charges that I already paid for work that wasn't completed. Most importantly, I want others to know not to ever use this contractor.
