In addition to work contracted as a result of an insurance claim, we hired R2 Cress to install new flooring in our entry and kitchen. Several of the flooring panels in the kitchen have separated. Brent came out once and fixed one panel. However, additional panels have separated and calls to Brent and the main office have gone unanswered.
We want R2 to either come out and fix the flooring or agree to pay for us to hire someone to make the repair.

Yes customer left a message and we in return called and left a voicemail. We will call her again. We will take care of the repair.

I hired R2 Cress to do projects on a couple of homes over the past few years. I had windows installed, new roof, concrete work, trim and carpentry, painting, a basement finished...all of the workers were nice, respectful and dependable. The quality of work was outstanding and the pricing competitive/on par with others. I felt comfortable having them in my home. I have continued to use R2 Cress for additional projects and have recommended them to neighbors and friends.

My wife and I worked with R2-Cress and Matt Trimble spring of 2019. The experience was great all the way through. Matt was a great listener to our wants/needs and was great at providing solutions. We worked with R2-Cress and Matt on a roof project. The price was competitive and Matt followed through with great service and was incredibly responsive. We completed the project on time, on budget. We even had neighbors comment on the quality, speed and respectful roof team. We would highly recommend R2 Cress and Matt Trimble for any work to be done.

when I was living in Lino Lakes I was getting ready to move and upon inspection found that there was hail damage on the roof. I called R2 Cress Remodeling to do the repairs since I had used them for window replacement the year prior and was very happy with the results. They worked with my insurance company and handled that process efficiently and knowing that I had a closing within the next few weeks, they accommodated by getting me taken care of prior to that date.
I could not have been more pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the care the crew took to clean up after they were done including several passes with a magnet to get virtually all the nails that the tarps did not catch. I would never hesitate recommending R2 Cress to anyone needing remodeling services.. The staff and workers were all very professional and friendly and I will use them again for any upcoming projects.
Matt

Great communication and thrilled with my kitchen remodel and windows! Delivered as promised!

I contracted with R2 Cress Remodeling and Restoration, LLC. In September 2018, for R2 Cress to perform a large roof replacement, including skylights at my residence, as a referral from my outside home insurance adjuster, after sustaining hail damage to my property. R2 Cress responded to my request to meet on site to discuss the scope of work, however R2 Cress did not include either a completion date or refund of a down payment within the terms of their standard contract. The standard contract does include 25% retention of the contract price if, by no fault of R2 Cress after starting work, the contract is cancelled. R2 Cress’s sales representative wrote, agreed and signed the contract according to my outlined specific date of completion and scope of insurance work at which time I paid the requested 50% of the contract price. I requested a partial lien waiver from the sales representative for the down payment, which I never received.
The work was not started by the agreed completion date because of poor weather. I contacted Bob Cress, owner of R2 Cress for a refund prior to the agreed date of completion and he proposed to do the job after the completion date, which was approaching winter conditions that I wanted to avoid. I told him that I was agreeable but it would need to be done in writing, as a change order and signed by both parties with a new completion date, and if he was not agreeable and or weather didn’t permit I would refer to the terms of the original contract. He refused to refund the entire down payment and decided to arbitrarily change the terms of the contract by stating, “I’m willing to refund a portion of the down payment but I’m not willing to refund the entire amount” and “By not refunding the down payment, I’m protecting R2 Cress in the contract and technically, I’m entitled to 25% of the contract price”. I said, the completion date was agreed to and in writing at the time the contract was signed. He said that “no matter the hand written part of the contract”, and cautioned me to “read the fine print in the contract” which he said allowed him to retain 25% of the total contract amount. He agreed to refund half of my down payment, which left 25% of the total contract price that he said he was entitled to - if the contract was cancelled, which it was not. R2Cress breached the contract by not completing the job by the agreed date, which the sales representative included: “Refund of Funds if not completed by the end of October” before I signed the contract and made a down payment.
After two attempts by the owner of R2 Cress to reschedule my project and not contacting me as he said he would, which spanned over the course of a month, R2Cress still had 50% of my down payment.
Because no labor was performed and no materials for the project were delivered to the job site and R2 Cress was not entitled to any portion of the contract price amount, I filed a complaint through The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry / Licensed Contractor Enforcement Division, to recover the remaining 50% of my down payment in full. I received the remainder of my down payment after two months from the contracted completion date and a tremendous amount of time in communicating in phone calls and writing with R2 Cress and filing a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry / Licensed Contractor Enforcement Division. R2 Cress was not reprimanded for misconduct with the State of Minnesota, because I was refunded my down entire payment, but I believe that the contractor’s intent was to use my funds for other purposes, and would have been fined and had their state contractor license revoked, had R2 Cress not refunded the remainder of the down payment.
R2Cress is a contractor that is not to be trusted with the written terms of a large roofing contract and I believe that the owner unprofessionally and willingly breached the contract for the use of the funds independent of providing any improvement to my property.
I do not recommend anyone doing business with R2Cress, but if you decide to:
1) Do not start with any money exchanging hands for any more than – 10% of the Contract Price.
2) Include a - Refund Clause
3) Include a - Specific date of Completion
4) Consider – Hiring an Attorney to review the contract before signing it.

Mr *** delayed the start of the roofing / skylight work R2 Cress was contracted to perform. He had some painting / staining on the exterior of his home that he was doing himself. He requested that we not start the project until he had completed his work. The weather turned bad and he was not able to complete his tasks. We offered to perform our tasks without him not finishing his work, but he declined. That offer was made on several occasions. We refunded all of Mr. money back to him as requested. . I'm kind of surprised to see this posting after so much time has passed. I hope he finds someone to fulfill his contract wishes in the future.

Mr. was well aware of the conditions of the contract that outlined the reimbursement of funds, in the event that the weather didn’t allow for my exterior work to be completed prior to the roofing and skylight work that he was contracted to perform. The delay was the weather and that was a real possibility when entering into the contract in late September. I wouldn’t have signed the contract or given him a down payment unless the terms of completion were included in the contract. I allowed him the opportunity to do the work after the deadline as noted in my review, under the guideline of change orders. However, Mr, *** was the one who chose to not follow through with communicating to me the scheduling of his work as he stated in our last phone conversation. After Mr. did not contact me and he was unwilling to reimburse the down payment in full as agreed to in the contract in writing, it was necessary for me to file a Building Contractor Consumer Complaint Form with The Department of Labor and Industry / Licensed Contractor Enforcement Division which was assigned to internal investigator to determine the circumstances of the offense, which required Mr. to refund the remainder of my entire down payment of $5,000. Mr. should not be surprised by my Revdex.com review, to forewarn other potential customers of R2 ***’ and Mr.’ unorthodox business practices.

I signed a contract with *** Cress to add an addition to my house. Plans were drawn which included windows, doors, sun tunnel, sky light, complete house paint job including new addition, and if I removed the deck( which I did) he would include painting the interior of the addition. Upon signing the contract I paid $21,787.50, ( Aug.11 2016) and when project started I paid another $18,675.00 (. He said the "project would be complete in 5-10 weeks". After 5 months of problems, with him stating "trapazoid windows, door, sky light, sun tunnel not included in contract, which meant I had to purchase them. There was also an allowance for sink, shower stall, vanity, shower head, faucets, which I purchased, and was never given credit for. They severed the electric to an out building which was never reconnected, and he ended up leaving the job with approximate $15,000- $20,000 unfinished work. A second contract was written by me in Dec. 29 2016 which he signed stating he would finish the trim on addition, fix severed line, add dentil, install gutters, fix sliding glass doors x 4 that would not close or lock, attach dead bolt plate, fix vent dryer, board by SGD would be replaced, floor in addition fixed so it would not squeek, boards on addition would be added, awning covers over windows ( requested by city inspector), and caulking inside and out. Which he said I was supposed to do. He signed this second contract so I gave him the 3rd payment thinking he was going to finish the job. He did not abide by the contract, and left me with the remainder of the project. He kept saying he would finish, but needed more money, so I gave him another $5,000 Jan. 2nd 2017 I have had water/mud in the basement since the addition was added, and think he should not be allowed to continue as a licensed contractor. I ended up paying him a total of $55,462.50 for this unfinished addition, and many hours of anguish, and sleepless nights.

Ms.’s summation of the facts regarding the work completed by R2 Cress Remodeling and Restoration, LLC (“R2 Cress) is inaccurate.. *** refuses to pay for work completed and has breached the contract with our company.

R2 Cress entered into a construction agreement (“Agreement”) with Ms. on August 11, 2016, for the construction of a one-story addition to her property. During construction on the Property, Ms. started making changes and additions to what she had originally requested and what was contained in the Agreement. We did our best to accommodate Ms.’s wishes while also staying within the scope of the Agreement. The work completed was done in compliance with applicable building codes and passed all inspections. Ms. may have buyer’s remorse from trying to cut costs by purchasing inferior building materials at Menards, but the materials were installed up to code and up to manufacture’s specifications. The trapezoid windows were never included in the construction plans or the Agreement. R2 Cress informed Ms. that trapezoid windows were not included in the Agreement on multiple occasions. We stated that if she wanted them installed she would have to pay for the trapezoid windows herself. Ms. agreed to this on several occasions. Ms. continued on this line of reasoning - asking for changes and additions, but not agreeing to pay for them – on multiple occasions.

As evidence of her manipulative nature, she went so far as to issue a bounced check for work to be performed. Because *** was delinquent in payments, R2 Cress refused to do additional work on her property until she caught up on her delinquency. On December 27, 2016, Ms. issued a check in the amount of $17,844.87, so that we would continue to work on her property. As soon as the work was completed Ms. stopped payment on the check which caused significant financial ramifications for our company.

R2 Cress stands by the quality of its work product and is committed to customer service. However, there are some individuals that simply cannot be pleased no matter what happens. Ms. is one of those people.
