RA Pearson Rent a Space Reviews (2)

Review: My father, [redacted] passed away June 7, 2008. I was the Executrix and finalized his estate, and paid any and all bills that came for him. Earlier this month, on March 18th, a friend from my hometown, emailed me to say that they had seen an ad for the public auction of the content of a storage locker that was in my father's name. I had not known of this unit or I would have cleaned it out with everything else after his death. On March 21st, I called RA Pearson and spoke to the owner about this. She had said her daughter was handling the business and she would talk to her about what we could do. I asked if she could call me back as soon as she talked to her daughter. She didn't respond again until March 27th to say to call her about setting up a time to meet. I called her back on March 28th and asked that she or her daughter contact me regarding this matter. She did not call me back and apparently my father's belongings, were auctioned off the following morning.I feel this business was negligent regarding the handling of the entire matter. I tried to resolve the matter with the owner which proved to be impossible. For example, she told me it was my fault because she had sent me a certified letter, so I should have known. My response was, "Did I sign for it?" to which she responded that no, it had been returned. I felt like I was dealing with a child.Desired Settlement: I'm not sure what can be done. I had asked them to return my call so that we could figure out how to resolve this matter or what could be done in regards to what must have been at least a 7 year unpaid bill.My father's belongings have been sold off and I have no idea what the items were. He wasn't a rich man, so I'm positive there isn't a "treasure"; however sentimentally, part of me will not have something that must have meant a great deal to him prior to the onset of dementia.
