WE are a consignment store. We have a contract that states all items will be placed on the floor for an agreed price. Per the contract, the item is reduced in price after 30 days by 20%, and after 60 days it's reduced by 40%. The consignor has...

an option, after ninety days, to either pick up the item, have a further price reduction or have the item donated. This consignor decided to have the items reduced in price, it is initialed in the contract to avoid any confusion. Also, at any time, if the consignor does not want the item reduced they are encouraged to pick up the item after 30 days. The majority of our items sell for 20% off (after 30 days) due to the nature of the business. It is the best interest for the store and the consignor to sell the item for the highest price possible. The consignor received the same percentage no matter what the item sells for. I have a copy of the contract that she signed and initialed that she would prefer to have the items kept in our store (with a further price reduction) until they sell. I was not informed that this consignor was unhappy with the transaction until I received the letter from your organization.
