Radio 1 Broadcast School Reviews (7)

Radio 1 Broadcast School has assembled the most real-world, most up-to-date, and most affordable radio broadcast education available, with the same modern equipment you find at radio stations. The education includes intensive class time, hands-on studio practice, as well as one-on-one critiques and...

instruction. Contrary to this claim, every student, including this student, has been closely guided through their radio education. Part of the proof of our excellent education is the dozens of student awards we've won, and our 100% student satisfaction rating over our 14 years in business (upon completion of the course, all of our graduates have given Radio 1 a high/positive rating, including Mr. [redacted]). We advertise exactly what we provide, and we provide exactly what we advertise. [redacted]

My experience at Radio 1 school was very positive. The one on one attention to every student was exceptional! The study courses covered every aspect of the radio business.I was impressed with all the state of the art equipment utilized in the studio rooms.
Then once you graduate, instructors help you prepare a resume and demo cds to distribute to prospective employers.
There are not very many good broadcast schools and Radio 1, in my opinion, stands out as the best in the field!

Radio1 was a great experience for me. The course is certainly not what you would expect from a school. The curriculum is designed to go above and beyond what the average broadcast school would offer. I absolutely loved the experience I had. It's extremely hands-on. By the end of the course, you will be more than ready to start at a real radio station. I, myself, ended up receiving a call the same day of graduating. I would definitely recommend Radio1 to anyone who is looking to get into radio.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Radio1 Broadcast School! I learned so much, and what I learned I have applied at my job at a radio station in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I learned everything from how to be a good on-air personality, to making my own commercials, to writing news stories, which I do at my job right now! I would recommend Radio1 Broadcast School to anyone who is serious about having a career in radio. [redacted] experience as a DJ helps because he is able to share his experience with students. It was a very worthwhile experience for me, and I will take that experience with me as I further my radio career!

As a professional in sales and human services counseling/therapy I will make these statements not in revenge or hatred but as a concern for future customers in regards to financial costs and educational benefits. My evaluation of the program in comparison to other broadcast schools overall with costs and educational benefits was D- and borderline failure. For what the course delivers in educational material, training, curriculum, instructors assistance in relation to the 7 week program cost a lot of negative laymens terms could be used that would be offensive to some so I will just say it is a failure. A lot of false statements made Radio1, and the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board having complaints filed and under inquiry as of current 2013. Do research before enrolling into private small schools like this. Ask to see a record of what former students are doing now. Retention rate ? Percentile of graduation and have obtained job in field ? Check the curriculum school is using, the equipment being for training, appearance of school, an actual employers opinion in the market ? Formal complaints are being filed with various state agencies and consumer reports. An in school evaluation was done personally by myself as well as a state analyst.

Radio 1 Broadcasting School is the best & only place to learn the in's & out's of radio. Top notch skills and creativity included. I learned a lot of the radio business and it makes you think differently about radio afterwards. Lots of fun and a totally fresh new different experience for your mind.
