Radioman Reviews (4)

Radio was not repairable. We tried to locate parts in Europe. the parts have long been obsolete. We tried to have some manufactured to no avail. After we exhausted all options and considerable expense trying to get the parts made we re turned his radio it he samebox as we received it... Packed. We ship over a thousand packages with no problem. We know how to pack a box. We did not charge the customer anything. We even paid for the return shipping. If it was damaged in shipping the customer must make a claim with the post office. Respectfully,Radioman

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.HERE IS MY REPLY, AS I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHERE TO ENTER IT:
Radioman is not being completely truthful
It was not returned in the same box I originally sent it in
It was double boxed when I sent it to radiomanI packed the radio in one box
with bubble wrap, and then put that box in another box stuffed with newspapers for extra safety
I originally sent it via FEDEX, here is the Air Waybill
number ***, and here is a link https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?action=track&tracknumbers=774062098009&cn... /> you can see, towards the bottom , on the left , they have the size of the box, and it measures 17" x 11"
x10", and weights lbs, and *** signed for it
The box they sent me was only the inside part of the
package, and it measures only x x You can also tell the size by the amount radioman spent on
shipping, as the shipping price goes by size of the boxAs you can see, it is
much smallerThey should have kept all the original packing
This is disgraceful, and he never answered my emails, and
then when I called him, he almost laughed, and asked me if I wanted his
firstborn in exchange for the broken radio, and then he hung up on meThis is
not how you do business
When I received it
, and saw it was broken, I emailed him immediately, asking him if it was insured, he never
replied , so I made a claim with the post office, and they said that there was
no insurance.I ship artworks for a living, so I know how to pack.thanks

Review: On July 3rd 2015, Radioman ([redacted]) gave me a quote of $500 to repair an expensive vintage car radio, a Blaupunkt Berlin sqr83. I agreed, and sent it to him on July 16th, very well packed via Fedex ground. The radio looked new on the outside, it was cosmetically perfect, there was only something wrong with the electronics on the inside.

He received it, he told me it would take time. I contacted him a couple of times over the next few months, he said he was working on it. I again contacted him around the middle December 2015. He told me he could not fix it, and was going to return it to me. I said fine. He returned it promptly, and I received it on December 24th. The radio consists of 4 parts, this radio in 1983 was the top of the line car radio, the cost then was about $1500, over 30 years ago. They are very hard to find, and very expensive.

When I received it, the radio face was cracked, 2 buttons fell off. The packing was horrendous, the parts were just thrown in a cardboard box with no padding, it was just shameful. I had found a german company that can fix it, and was going to send it to them. Now I cannot send it, as I feel it is not worth repairing, as it is not cosmetically mint as before.Desired Settlement: I want $600 so I can find another cosmetically perfect blaupunkt berlin sqr83, and send it myself to germany to repair.

This is what it will cost me on ebay if one comes up. They come up once or twice a year, it is extremely rare. I paid $600 for it about one year ago.

thank you

Albert
