Radon Control Professional South, INC Reviews (1)

As the owner of record and president of Radon Control Professionals South, I have provided successful radon remediation services for over thirty years and in over 31,000 homes in four states. My company provides the best guarantee in the business – as long as the exhaust fan is in working...

order, I guarantee the radon levels to be below 4pCi/l, the mandatory action level as mandated by the EPA, for five years.  A copy our standard guarantee is attached. When Mr. [redacted] called and demanded that I immediately repair a broken component of his two year old radon remediation system at no cost, I explained that the pipe in question was not covered by the guarantee, that I only guarantee to bring the radon level down to an acceptable level. The broken pipe is in the crawlspace of his home, and may or may not negate the efficacy of the system.Upon questioning Mr. [redacted], it seems that he did not follow the protocol to retest his home for radon upon system installation two years ago. I recommended that he now retest his home for radon (the EPA recommends testing every two years anyway) to determine if the remediation system does indeed need a repair, which again is not included in the guarantee.Mr. [redacted] refused to purchase a radon test kit, which retails for about $** at [redacted] or [redacted]. He said that he wanted the system fixed no matter what the radon levels are, yet if the level is already acceptable there is no need for a repair and there is no way to determine this except with a test. In an effort to be cooperative, I mailed a test kit to him at my own expense. Apparently, he did run the test but did not completely fill in the necessary data, so the lab is unable to process the results. I have tried to contact him three times to discuss the test and try to obtain the relevant test information so the lab can proceed, but Mr. [redacted] has not returned my calls.Upon mailing the test to Mr. [redacted], I told him that if the radon levels in his home were indeed high, that I would repair his system at no cost to him. I told him that to expedite the repair if he could leave the crawlspace access door open then we could complete the work during normal business hours and when we were in his area. Mr. [redacted] refused on two counts – he said there was no way he was going to let my workers in his house when he was not home and that the only acceptable time would be in the evening or on a weekend so he could be present. First, no one would be entering his home, only the crawlspace underneath it which has no access to the home’s interior. Secondly, much like a bank or a doctor’s office, my hours of operation do not include nights and weekends. Please note that I make repairs and service calls regularly; however, there is a fee for such services. Recently a trampoline was caught by the wind and damaged an outside component of a radon system, and while this damage was accidental, the homeowner paid for the repair. Mr. [redacted]’s damage, while accidental, is not covered by any guarantee.I feel I was being incredibly accommodating to Mr. [redacted], offering to perform services at no cost when not required to do so, despite his misunderstanding of his radon system guarantee and what it includes and his refusal to accept the complimentary services I was offering. If I came across as impatient, perhaps it is because Mr. [redacted] was uncooperative and belittling in his dealings with me, even to the point of telling me how important he is and therefore I must comply with his demands. Please note that Mr. [redacted] is not under any contractual obligation to my company as he erroneously states. In over thirty years of business, this is my first and only complaint to the Revdex.com.Respectfully,Norman *.
