It would appear that the person who typed this response was the one who was extremely disrespectful to my wife when she called to seek out information about this guarantee.   Response - I was not trying to be disrespectful to your wife or anyone who would ever call in. If I repeated myself I am sorry. I gave her some options. She said she would speak to her husband and let me know. I said OK, and that is where it was left. Then I receive the complaint through the Revdex.com. In 15 years, 13,000 + systems I have never received a complaint. We always make it right if something happens. I sit on the national board that regulates Radon in the US. If anyone would make this right it would be us.As she stated to this individual we are moving and after the way he communicated with her the last thing we wanted was him stepping foot in our house again.    Response - Again, very sorry if she feels I was disrespectful. Is it possible she mistook any information?  I did not raise my voice to her, I said nothing offensive or condescending. This is a one time thing for the customer. But for us, this is all we do. We want to make it right.  The options I gave in my first response would require us to come back to the home. I do not accept that you can make a guarantee in writing and back out of it claiming it was an error.  If every business worked like that no one would ever have to stick to their commitments.   Response - As I explained, your proposal was in error. We are not perfect and mistakes do happen. The person who sent it out is very sorry for this, and I do not hold it against them. Who of us has not messed up at work? Thank god when that happens we don't withhold their paycheck at the end of the week. But, beyond that I am more than willing to do extra testing and work if needed to achieve the guarantee that was marked on your proposal. The stipulation that this is a  long term 3 month test does not help me the seller in any way.  If they went back in that house that I will no longer own in 3 months how does that benefit me?  I paid for what they proposed, not for what they proposed might.Response. The test did come in below the EPA's standard of 3.9, so you will be able to sell your home. The level did not quite get below 1.9 (which is meant for homes with gravel and or drain tile under the basement slab. Not 90 year old homes with sand or clay) level that was marked on your proposal - right away. It does not mean that your levels are not currently 1.9 or below. That is why another test should be conducted. Based on the last 12 hours of your initial post test hourly readings were dropping further. The system has had more time to operate and so this could now be a non issue. When there is sand or clay under the slab it can take longer for levels to drop. Again, if another test came back at above 1.9 I would be willing to do more work at no fee to achieve 1.9 or below. Finally, selling the home with the levels reported on the initial post test is not an issue, the test did pass. If the issue is achieving a level of 1.9 or below, then I have offered a more than fair solution. If squeezing a free system out of us is the real motivation then nothing I offer will be acceptable. If we can all be adults and professional here than we will honor the 1.9 Radon level. We just have to be allowed to do the work.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First of all, I have installed roughly 13,000 systems in WI in 15 years and have never once had a complaint sent into the Revdex.com or the State. We have always backed up our work and our guarantees. The proposal that was sent did have the wrong Radon level guarantee X'd. As I told the wife we do not...

guarantee 1.9 or below on 90 year old homes because there is sand or clay under the slab, with no drain tile system to use to pull air to lower the Radon. A much larger vacuum fan is needed in these cases and sometimes more than on suction point. The person who sent out the proposal made an honest mistake but not removing the X from the 1.9 or below guarantee and putting it on the 3.9 or below guarantee. The levels are below the EPA recommended level of 3.9. This system was installed for a Realty transaction and they will be able to sell their home. I gave the customer two choices. #1 We can send an updated proposal which would have the proper guarantee X'd. I am not trying to get out of guaranteeing a level. Again, we would never guarantee 1.9 or below on a 90 year old home. The guarantee would be 3.9 or below, which we met. The second option was to let us come back out, free of charge and perform another test. The levels may very well be below 1.9 overall now as the system has had more time to operate. When dealing with sand or clay it can take a longer time period for levels to drop and the air flow is slow moving. If it is not below 1.9 overall then I will put in a 2nd suction point, at no cost to help grab more and get levels lower. It states in the contract in big bold black letters that if we run into sand or clay and a 2nd suction point is needed to meet the guaranteed level that we will charge a fee to do this. It is a break even fee only so we don't lose money. But I will waive that fee. Lastly, the contract clearly states that our Radon level guarantee is based on a long term test, which is a minimum of 3 months. We perform a short term test on Real Estate transactions so homes can be sold. Bu the guarantee is based on a long term test. This is to give system enough time to do their job. Some times it takes longer for the suction field (area under the slab) to set up footing to footing to get the lowest possible levels. To show good faith I will retest with another monitor at no fee and install a 2nd suction point if needed at no fee. The employee made an honest mistake. To ask for the a refund on a system that did lower Radon enough for them to sell their home does not seem fair to us, a small business. I am willing to go the extra mile for them at no cost even through it was a complete honest mistake.

Review: Contacted this company to do a radon installation at our house. After sending someone to inspect the house we received a quote/proposal with a money back guarantee in bold letters and a check by the line of lowering our radon level to 1.9 or lower. The quote was for $750 with a stipulation that depending on if our house had drain tiles it would need to have an extra large fan and bring the total up to $850. After installing the system which needed the larger fan, and doing a test the levels came back at 2.4 which is out of the range of their money back guarantee. My wife contacted them today and not only was told that it was a clerical error and they would send us a new copy of the same quote with 4.0 checked. This person man who answered but never gave his name was extremely rude in his communication with her and repeatedly repeated the same statement about this all being a clerical error. Below is the contract wording that was emailed to me

The Active Radon mitigation/AMC system has a Money Back Guarantee to bring basement Radon levels, to or below;

3.9pCi/L ___, or 1.9pCi/L _X_, or 1.0pCi/L ___based on a long term test for the life of the system.Desired Settlement: We have already paid for this service and the closing on our home is next week. We are requesting a refund because this business failed to meet the standards and guarantee that they themselves set for their work. And furthermore were extremely rude and disrespectful to my wife when she called to ask about this guarantee.

The fact that you can send someone a document and then tell them oh yeah we shouldnt have checked that I will just send you one with what I meant to check based on your results that I now have is extremely crooked.

Again below is the contract wording with their guarantee

The Active Radon mitigation/AMC system has a Money Back Guarantee to bring basement Radon levels, to or below;

3.9pCi/L ___, or 1.9pCi/L _X_, or 1.0pCi/L ___based on a long term test for the life of the system.
