It would appear that the person who typed this response was the one who was extremely disrespectful to my wife when she called to seek out information about this guarantee Response - I was not trying to be disrespectful to your wife or anyone who would ever call inIf I repeated myself I am sorryI gave her some optionsShe said she would speak to her husband and let me knowI said OK, and that is where it was leftThen I receive the complaint through the Revdex.comIn years, 13,+ systems I have never received a complaintWe always make it right if something happensI sit on the national board that regulates Radon in the USIf anyone would make this right it would be us.As she stated to this individual we are moving and after the way he communicated with her the last thing we wanted was him stepping foot in our house again Response - Again, very sorry if she feels I was disrespectfulIs it possible she mistook any information? I did not raise my voice to her, I said nothing offensive or condescendingThis is a one time thing for the customerBut for us, this is all we doWe want to make it right The options I gave in my first response would require us to come back to the homeI do not accept that you can make a guarantee in writing and back out of it claiming it was an error If every business worked like that no one would ever have to stick to their commitments Response - As I explained, your proposal was in errorWe are not perfect and mistakes do happenThe person who sent it out is very sorry for this, and I do not hold it against themWho of us has not messed up at work? Thank god when that happens we don't withhold their paycheck at the end of the weekBut, beyond that I am more than willing to do extra testing and work if needed to achieve the guarantee that was marked on your proposalThe stipulation that this is a long term month test does not help me the seller in any way If they went back in that house that I will no longer own in months how does that benefit me? I paid for what they proposed, not for what they proposed might.ResponseThe test did come in below the EPA's standard of 3.9, so you will be able to sell your homeThe level did not quite get below (which is meant for homes with gravel and or drain tile under the basement slabNot year old homes with sand or clay) level that was marked on your proposal - right awayIt does not mean that your levels are not currently or belowThat is why another test should be conductedBased on the last hours of your initial post test hourly readings were dropping furtherThe system has had more time to operate and so this could now be a non issueWhen there is sand or clay under the slab it can take longer for levels to dropAgain, if another test came back at above I would be willing to do more work at no fee to achieve or belowFinally, selling the home with the levels reported on the initial post test is not an issue, the test did passIf the issue is achieving a level of or below, then I have offered a more than fair solutionIf squeezing a free system out of us is the real motivation then nothing I offer will be acceptableIf we can all be adults and professional here than we will honor the Radon levelWe just have to be allowed to do the work

First of all, I have installed roughly 13,systems in WI in years and have never once had a complaint sent into the Revdex.com or the StateWe have always backed up our work and our guaranteesThe proposal that was sent did have the wrong Radon level guarantee X'dAs I told the wife we do not guarantee or below on year old homes because there is sand or clay under the slab, with no drain tile system to use to pull air to lower the RadonA much larger vacuum fan is needed in these cases and sometimes more than on suction pointThe person who sent out the proposal made an honest mistake but not removing the X from the or below guarantee and putting it on the or below guaranteeThe levels are below the EPA recommended level of This system was installed for a Realty transaction and they will be able to sell their homeI gave the customer two choices#We can send an updated proposal which would have the proper guarantee X'dI am not trying to get out of guaranteeing a levelAgain, we would never guarantee or below on a year old homeThe guarantee would be or below, which we metThe second option was to let us come back out, free of charge and perform another testThe levels may very well be below overall now as the system has had more time to operateWhen dealing with sand or clay it can take a longer time period for levels to drop and the air flow is slow movingIf it is not below overall then I will put in a 2nd suction point, at no cost to help grab more and get levels lowerIt states in the contract in big bold black letters that if we run into sand or clay and a 2nd suction point is needed to meet the guaranteed level that we will charge a fee to do thisIt is a break even fee only so we don't lose moneyBut I will waive that feeLastly, the contract clearly states that our Radon level guarantee is based on a long term test, which is a minimum of monthsWe perform a short term test on Real Estate transactions so homes can be soldBu the guarantee is based on a long term testThis is to give system enough time to do their jobSome times it takes longer for the suction field (area under the slab) to set up footing to footing to get the lowest possible levelsTo show good faith I will retest with another monitor at no fee and install a 2nd suction point if needed at no feeThe employee made an honest mistakeTo ask for the a refund on a system that did lower Radon enough for them to sell their home does not seem fair to us, a small businessI am willing to go the extra mile for them at no cost even through it was a complete honest mistake
