I have been going to this place for over seven years for one of my other dogs and never had a bad experience until today. I took my other dog which is an [redacted] to be groomed today and asked for a summer cut but didn't want him gapped because he was gapped at another place. I go to pick him up and he is shaved with his head cut short and his tail cut short and his body shaved. THIS IS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR! I called and complained and told them this is not what I asked for and they didn't want to do anything to fix the problem.Product_Or_Service: groomingDesired SettlementI would like my full money back or even a credit to give them a second chance to groom [redacted] and my other dog. Business Response The client contends that she did not receive the haircut she wanted for her pet. She states that she wanted a short summer haircut for her [redacted] but that the cut we gave was too short. Further, she states that she has never seen an [redacted] cut that way prior to now. When first making the appointment, the client spoke with the Facility Manager, an experienced groomer, and explained of her unhappiness with her current groomer cutting the dog, but leaving it "gappy." Generally, in this situation, with the [redacted] hair texture, this means that the groomer did not cut the hair short enough to give a proper smooth look. This was explained to the client and she agreed to our recommendations. There was an additional phone call between the client and the Manager and again, this short summer haircut was agreed upon.Upon arriving at our facility, she spoke with the groomer, went over grooming instructions and everything remaining the same, our groomer proceeded with the agreed upon haircut. When the client came to pick up her pet, she expressed her displeasure, paid and took her dog home. She proceeded to call the Manager twice that same day to explicitly express her displeasure and demand her money back. It was again explained to her why the dog was cut in the manner it was. This was what all parties had understood. To the point that she has never seen this haircut prior, [redacted] summer haircuts all follow this pattern. We have a good number of clients that come in to receive the same haircut and with no complaints. The groomer has several [redacted] of her own which receive the same haircut. Another employee at the company has two [redacted] and she keeps them cut down in this same summer cut year round. Due to the texture of [redacted] hair, a short summer haircut is precisely what the client received. It does not please us that she is so upset with her haircut as our aim is to excel at what we do. However, it is our opinion that we did what was asked of us. The client would like a refund of her money. She was quoted over the phone for a summer haircut for an [redacted] but the dog she brought in was larger than the average [redacted] We charge dependent upon numerous considerations...breed, hair texture and size being some. She was actually undercharged for the haircut received as we estimated her based off the phone conversation of a typical [redacted] summer haircut." Her total bill should have been about $20 more, but due to the fact that she was an existing client and to honor our verbal estimate, we did not charge her more. We feel that discount should take care of her displeasure.Consumer Response A short summer cut is not taking a razor and shaving my dog. I have a before and after picture of my dog and he looks like a poodle after his cut. I advised the girl I spoke with on the phone he was a standard [redacted] so them giving me the wrong price quote over the phone is their mistake just like cutting him too short [redacted] is a black dog and he has cut so short to his skin he looked gray. I have another dog I get cut there and tell them the same thing a "summer cut" and she is never shaved to her skin her hair is cut short just like I asked when telling them that they said she gets a "puppy cut"? Never heard of the term before until the day I called and complained about [redacted] cut. The vet I take [redacted] to has never said he was a bigger [redacted] shepherd that he is a standard and weighs what he is suppose to so Im not sure where they get he is bigger. I would even be willing to give them a second try with the hair cut on them considering I have been a client of theirs for over 8 years and hate this happened but if a client isn't happy that has been going that long I think something needs to be done besides a mistake $20 discount given.
