There was a conflict of interest between the attorney and the confidentiality agreement, that was reached, the total amount that was agreed upon was $2,750.00. Which is being raised, and have not received any communication since the initial consultation.
I checked her file, the agreement she signed is only for $2000, not $2700, and it has never changed, she is on monthly payments. Contracts clearly say that filing fees (government fees) are not included (second paragraph). Filing fee is $725, perhaps she is getting confused with that. That money is not for us, it’s for the federal government. If it was included I would be losing money, we have operating expenses, I can’t include them and I am sure most lawyer don’t include them, I am certain it is not a common practice. She has not brought any documents to file the application either. She can either stop by, bring the documents along with the filing fee because the government won’t accept it without it and we can file the application. Or, if she wants to, we can cancel the contract and get a refund. Additionally, I don’t know what ssdi is and our commercials only say there is free consultation if a family member is detained by ICE, we don’t talk about any discounts, so if she wants a refund I’d be happy to give it to her, many issues with client.
