Review: I had purchased several packages for tans, redlight and spray tans, and without notice they just closed, and took my unearned money. Last time I was there they tried to sell me more packages, and that wasn't long before they left!!Leaves a bad taste for ever wanting to join another Hollywood tans. This is no way to do business, and they should have had someone there to address these issues, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that got taken!!Desired Settlement: They should have to refund the balance due me on those packages I bought, as they provided me with no service for my money, or Hollywood Tan should allow me to use them at a different location just as a matter of goodwill. It would make me feel much better, and would be a fair way to fix it.

Review: I purchased a tanning package form this store and it is now closed. I was never notified of how to use the remaining tans on my package or how to get my money back.Desired Settlement: I had 8 tans left on my package. I would like to be able to use them at another location or to have my money refunded

Review: In early May 2015, I purchased a membership for $100 for 10 tans. I had gotten only 3 tans done. When I went over to the establishment on May 30, the business was shut down and emptied without any notice to the customers. I signed an agreement to pay for membership in full and in return, was permitted 10 tanning sessions.Desired Settlement: I would like to request a refund for the membership. I have 7 sessions that have been paid for that I am unable to use now that the establishment shut down. I would also agree to use my sessions at any other participating Hollywood Tans establishments if possible. There are locations in Monroeville and North Hills. When I contacted them, I was told that they are not affiliated with the Shadyside location and do not have any records on Shadyside customers. I am due back $70 for unused services.

Review: I purchased a spray tan package at this location, named Hollywood Tans in Pittsburgh. I had ten spray tans on my account, which hold a retail value of $205. Suddenly, without any warning, this location closed. Hollywood Tans LLC stated that this location was independently owned and that they could not obtain account information from the owner. They said the only way to receive a refund was to file this complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the full retail value of $205.

Review: I have been tanning at Hollywood Tans since 2003. In fact, I used to work there, so I am familiar with the Hollywood Tans policy that tanning sessions purchased at one salon do not expire and can be used at most other tanning salon locations. In 2012 or 2013, I purchased a number of tanning sessions at the Ellsworth Ave Hollywood Tans, operated by Rager Tans Shadyside, LLC (this name was provided to me by Hollywood Tans corporate). I purchased them with the understanding that sessions purchased at one Hollywood Tans location would never expire and could be used at most other Hollywood Tans locations. I believe I purchased a package of 10+ tans in the HT 54 or HT 60 (the middle- or highest-level option, at the time). I believe I got 20 tans total, as part of a promotion going on, and don't think I used more than 5 or 6 sessions, as I have been tanning at a different HT location since then. On 6/30/15, I went to the Hollywood Tans on Campbell's Run Road (Pittsburgh), and when I asked to use one of my sessions that I had purchased at the Ellsworth Ave location, I was informed that the Ellsworth Ave location closed. The associate at the Hollywood Tans on Campbell's Run Road suggested I contact Hollywood Tans (HT) corporate, which I did through their online 'Contact Us' form. The response I got from HT corporate was to take up the matter with the Revdex.com. I believe that HT corporate needs the information from 'Rager Tans Shadyside, LLC', which again, is the entity name provided to me by HT corporate, in order to issue a refund and/or transfer the remaining sessions to a nearby location.I imagine that mine is not the only request to resolve this matter. Could you please provide HT corporate with the necessary information to process a refund or transfer my remaining sessions to the Campbell's Run Road location?I can be best reached via email at [redacted].Thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Please issue a refund for the remaining sessions or transfer them to the Campbell's Run Road Hollywood Tans location. Thank you.

Review: When I visited Hollywood Tans last Friday, May 29, they were closed. I called another Hollywood tans to see if I could transfer my spray tanning package. They said they could not honor it, and I was told to call corporate. Corporate does not take phone calls, only e-mails. This was the e-mail I received back...There's nothing yet. You may want to file something with the Revdex.com to assure you get refunded. I know this is an inconvenience, however, I also understand wanting a refund.Desired Settlement: I have about 16 or 17 tans left. I would like a refund for the amount of tans I have left.

Review: I purchased tans from Hollywood Tans - Shadyside, and due to the location being closed I am unable to use the purchased tans. There was no warning of the store closing, and corporate told me to contact the Revdex.com. There are no other convenient Hollywood Tan locations, and no one has any information as to how to get a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund of remaining tans I will not be able to use due to the location closing.

Review: I had purchased a $70 package at this location. I was able to utilize this tanning package just twice. I was not informed at all that the place would be closing down. Upon making a trip to the salon to utilize my package the doors were locked during the normal business hours. There was no notice or sign on the door. I had tried to call the salon several times. There was no response and no recording. I then contacted the corporate office online where I was told that the salon had in fact closed and that they were working to recover customer information in order to honor tans at another location. After over a month of not hearing back I sent another request for a time frame or more information to the corporate office. This is where I was directed to contact the Revdex.com for a refund. I was told to use the name Rager Tans Shadyside, LLC.Desired Settlement: I'd like to either be refunded the dollar amount to which I spent at the salon on tanning services that were not received, or have the tans that I purchased be honored at a nearby hollywood tans location.

Review: I purchased 10 tans at this location that I was told I would be able to use at any time. A few months after the purchase, after I had only used two of the tans, the location closed without any warning or refund for the money I spent. I spent nearly $100, and I would either like to be refunded or given supplemental tans for a different location.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the money I spent or be given the tans I lost at this location to use for another location (8 tans at the Ross Park location).

Review: I purchased a package of sessions in the Spring of 2015. I only go occasionally and as it happens last year, I got sick right after purchasing the package. I used one or two of the sessions before getting sick. I decided to go over a couple of weeks ago (end of Feb. 2016) and the place is closed with no forwarding address. I got on their web site and filled out a form asking whom I should contact for a refund since none of their other locations are convenient for me and they responded with "Unfortunatley, this location is no longer in business and you should file a formal complaint at www.Revdex.com". Apparently these are individually owned franchises, so even if I could get to another location, they wouldn't honor the package I purchased. I'm out about $130.00 and if possible, would like to recover it. More importantly, I think people should know that just because the share a website, they are all independently owned.Desired Settlement: If you can tell me who the owner(s) are, I would request a full refund.

Review: The Hollywood Tans on Ellsworth Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA has permanently closed, with no notice or reason. I have prepaid for my tans there and have at least 13 tans left. I contacted their headquarters and they told me to reach out to the Revdex.com as they are unable to do anything at this time. I would like to request a full refund. Please advise.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund for the tanning package I purchased. This is extremely inconvenient and a terrible way to run a business.Thank you in advance.

Review: This location of Hollywood tans closed abruptly without warning. I had multiple tanning sessions and spray tans left that I was unable to use. I also tan at another Hollywood tans, who indicated that I could not transfer any tans over to their location, which was previously allowed with an up charge of a few dollars when the other site was open. I contacted corporate Hollywood tans to see if my tans could be transferred, with no success. It is evident the Hollywood tans systems can communicate, and the chain as a whole was unwilling to honor my tans.Desired Settlement: I would like the amount of tans, both tanning bed and spray tans, to be refunded or credited or refunded.

Review: This business closed without notice to any of its customers. I showed up one day to the business only to find the doors locked and closed. I had purchased a spray tanning package at this business and now I am both unable to use it and unable to get a refund! This is a franchised company, but the parent company (Hollywood Tans) was also unaware of the closing and is not able to transfer or refund my purchase.Desired Settlement: The package that I purchased had no expiration date, so I expect it to be refunded in full.

Review: Shadyside Hollywood Tans went out of business. I contacted Hollywood Tans corporate and they cannot refund me my money and are unwilling to transfer my money to another nearby Hollywood tans. I had about 15 spray tans left and now they are unwilling to cooperate. The business has been closed since mid-June. I want my money refunded or my tans transferred to another location.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded or my tans transferred to another location. I don't understand how a business that is across the country can be getting away with this!

Review: I recently moved out of the city and was trying to get ahold of the Hollywood Tans (HT) in Shadyside on Ellsworth to find out how to transfer my remaining session (10+) that I had purchased. Since no one answered, I called the HT in Bridgeville, PA to ask my question. I was informed by the young lady who answered the phone that she had heard that the Shadyside HT had closed, rather abruptly, and advised me to contact corporate about the sessions. I received a response from HT Customer Service stating that the Shadyside location had indeed closed and they were also 'shocked' as they not notified either. They also suggested filing with Revdex.com to try to recover losses.Desired Settlement: I had banked about 10+sessions at the Shadyside location and am hoping that you could help me to resolve the loss either wig a refund or transfer of sessions to my nearest HT. I would love to continue at the Bridgeville HT.
