To Whom it may concern.  I’m writing in response to complaint #[redacted].  Our company works hard to make sure our no refund policy is clearly communicated across our sign-up process.  We even ask runners to sign a waiver showing they understand, so they can be fully versed on the...

policy.  We use the funds from entries to put on our events, and that means we need to depend on that cash to deliver a solid experience.  We recognize that policy doesn’t work for everyone, which is why we try to communicate that commitment upfront.  It is important to use that the runner can have the information to make a decision prior to purchase and not be surprised afterwards.  Ultimately, this amount was refunded because they chose to charge back the amount on their card and we did not dispute it.  I do think our response to provide a credit towards another event was a fair compromise above and beyond our normal policy.   Our runner’s experience is important to us.  We will continue to work to meet their expectations while still managing the business demands of putting on exceptional events for our community.
