this vehicle lives over 2 hours away via highway. I do not understand how vehicle would have made it there with this kind of problem. The customer admits that they had the vehicle 2 weeks when this issue happened. This was not a warranty issue since the vehicle was sold “AS IS” and we have signed documentation to support to this. Review: I purchased a used car in good faith from a local dealer. This was to be my sons first car and I was concerned about the tires, breaks and overall reliability. I paid $4.981.00 in cash as requested by the dealer and gave them my old car for a trade in value of $1,295.00 for a total new used car value of $6,276. The car is a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta with 74,000 miles. Their policy is that I could not take it to my own garage for a look over but the salesman Andrew assured me that the car had good breaks and was a reliable vehicle. Having the car less than 30 days the transmission failed. Dealer apparently just purchased the vehicle from the auction shortly prior to selling it to me. He purchased a Lemon. and passed it on to me. He did offer to fix the transmission. Sending me 1 hour round trip from my home to have a new transmission installed has turned into 4 additional trips over the last 3 months and not only do I still have a malfunctioning transmission but the car also badly needs both front and rear beaks with rooters. They just did not become that bad in the last 2,000 miles of use. The car is now at the Garage for the 4th time. It is not safe for my son to drive and we have been paying insurance on a vehicle that has spent much of its time at the shop. I feel that the mechanic is not responsible for the poor conditions of the car, he has been trying to fix it. and can only keep doing so much for me without compensation himself. This vehicle has caused me much hardship with all the trips to the repair shop and I still would need to put an additional $500 into breaks once and if the transmission becomes repaired properly. I feel strongly that this car is definitely NOT reliable for a young mans first car. And that is most important to me. Furthermore I have no trust in this dealer if he were to offer me an even trade on another car on his lot.
