Review: My concern with this company is that their car wash has inferior, or unmaintained equipment which resulted in my car getting a sticky, soapy residue on it which required a separate car wash right afterwards to get most of it off.I have used this car wash about 6 times in the past six months. Two to three months ago, I realized that the spot free wash was leaving a sticky residue on my car. I called the number posted at the car wash, and spoke to the wife of the owner who asked me which bay I used, what time, etc...She said she would have her husband check the equipment. She also said she would send me a refund, however, she sent me more car wash tokens. About a month later (April, May 2013) I went to the car wash again and used a different bay. Again, the spot free rinse had soap in it. I asked the person next to me and he said it took him "forever" to get the soap out of the line. Since I had tokens, I used them up and didn't ever use the spot free rinse again. As this is the only type of self service car wash in Ventura County, I went to them a couple of additional times including Wednesday, June 26 around 5:00 p.m. I used the soapy foam brush and the high powered rinse and again my car had a sticky residue all over it. I went to Chevron on Market St an hour or so later and had them wash it all over again.I have contacted the owner, Tom or Tony twice including today, July 1, 2013. His overall demeanor is that of "How can I not help you?" First he pretended he didn't know where the car wash on 5950 Sea Hawk street was. Then he tried to say it wasn't the same car wash he works for. He continued to tell me that "no one else has this problem." I asked for a refund for the car wash, $6.25 and the $8.00 I paid to Chevron to wash my car again. He refused and said, "You'll have to go somewhere else to wash your car." No kidding.I told him I would contact the Revdex.com and he went into a "rage" and hung up on me.Desired Settlement: I would like $6.25 for Rain Tunnel Car Wash and $6.00 plus $2.00 tip for Chevron Car Wash on 4411 Market St for the same day, I still have the receipt. So, total of $14.25.Also, I think this car wash should be looked into for providing inferior equipment for customers. I have used self serve car washes in every city I've lived in, and this is the only one that I have had this problem with.

Response:

First of all, thank you Revdex.com for assisting with this issue, I really appreciate it. The reason I filed a complaint was because I feel this business needs to take responsibility for operating a service that works correctly and consistently, and to provide decent customer service when there are issues.

As for my issue, I made it clear how I cleaned my car in my original statement:

"I went to them a couple of additional times including Wednesday, June 26

around 5:00 p.m. I used the soapy foam brush and the high powered

rinse and again my car had a sticky residue all over it."

In addition I have attached the receipt from Chevron on Market street where I had my car re-washed right away:

"I went to Chevron on Market St an hour or so later and had them wash it all over again."

As you can see, I went to them about an hour later at 5:53 p.m. after running a couple of errands as I could not leave that sticky residue all over my car.

As for your checking out all of your equipment, you don't even know which bay I used. And then there's your employee Tim,- definitely no customer service skills.

Again, I would like reimbursement for both car washes which is $14.25 (including $2 tip for hand drying).

I think this is fair given how much time I've spent addressing this situation. Please be advised I would not take one moment to do so if there wasn't a problem.

And this is the second time there is a problem And the first time I didn't ask for tokens as a reimbursement. This time, cash only please.

So, I'll let you decide how you want to run your business. If you think $6.25 is fair, then I'll accept it. If you think about what I've said and view my receipt, $14.25 is correct.

Finally, given that your business seems to be a monopoly in the area means you have to take full responsibility for providing satisfactory service. Right now, there is no competition, so you are the only choice for this type of service, and therefore need to deliver top quality.
