Review: We selected Sahara Galaxy quartz counter tops for our two bathrooms upstairs and our kitchen. Our contractor and his team picked the quartz up for us and installed it. The bathrooms looked great. The kitchen looked lovely—until we noticed that the large peninsula piece where our bar stools are was a very noticeable different color from the rest of the pieces. There was a seam that connected the little piece to the right of the stove to the peninsula piece and the difference in color was not slight…we’re talking about 50%. The large piece almost looked white compared to the beige of the rest of the Sahara Galaxy. Visited the store and let them know what was going on and showed them a photo of the color difference. They agreed that the difference was extreme. They had one peninsula left in the store that was labeled “Sahara Galaxy.” When they showed it to me, I told them repeatedly that it didn't look as sparkly as the pieces at home and are they SURE it’s the same color. They assured me and our contractor that it was indeed the right color, it was just because the light wasn't hitting it a certain way. The new piece was installed. I came home and saw it and again, it was a completely different color with a greatly noticeable contrast at the seam.

Long story short, after getting the run around for over a month, this situation resulted in my husband having to drive four hours round trip on a Saturday to visit the vendor directly and get the correct piece. Then, our contractor had to spend six hours on a Monday picking up the piece because since we purchased from the vendor, Rainbow Stone wouldn't transport it for us. Rainbow Stone provided us with the code we needed to give the vendor match the piece—but this is what THEY should have used when putting all of the pieces together for our original order to ensure they matched.

Four pieces of unusable quartz and two months later, our counters finally match.Desired Settlement: Rainbow Stone should refund us for the four pieces of quartz that we purchased (that they failed to match the shipment/lot of) that are now unusable as they did not complete their due diligence when they put our original order together. Had they done so, this entire situation could have been avoided and would not have resulted in the frustration, waste of time and extreme stress that we had to deal with. Instead, they threw in a piece of old Sahara Galaxy they had in the warehouse and hoped it would match--they did this TWICE!

To be honest, they should also add to the refund for the time and even the gas that had to be used to travel to the vendor to fix a problem that should have never occurred in the first place.
