This customer lives in Kansas and we had a subcontractor out in that area set up to come out and take a look at the issue and repair it**, the subcontractor tried to reach out the consumer a couple of times to set up an appointment when the weather was permittingI do know ** has set up an
appointment but I am not positive of that date

I am rejecting this response because:Employees of Raintight never said anything about replacing our roofWe were told our chimney needed to be tuckpointed which we did at our expenseWe were never told if we did replace the roof, that they wanted to be here to look at itWe were asked who had installed the roof and could Raintight call the company. We gave Raintight the name of the owner and numberThe last time we checked the roofer had not been contacted. When they installed the patio cover, they should have told us then that they had concerns about the condition of the roof. Even though we are only one household, when you have paid over $for something and it isn't as expected, it is a problem. They have made an appointment to come Monday to replace the gutter. We are glad they are replacing the gutter even though it took 1/years to get this done. We still would like the leaks fixed.
Sincerely,
*** ***

We are sorry for the inconveniences the customer has experienced with this project. We have had many conversations and the customer and have tried to fix the issue which are a non-issue with the hundreds of other projects we have completed. Not to say we can not fix but our one
opportunity we has asked for numerous times about the customers old shingle roof that was in need of replacing we were not given the chance to view since the customer hired a roofing company to replace but did not call and tell us until after it was completed We had asked for the chance to help replace/ view the homes roof sheathing at the time of removal of which were told nothing about until the new roof was installed. We unfortunately have no opportunity now to view the questionable areas and are back to visual inspection of the roof.We have arranged to replace the customer patio cover gutter and that will be completed in the next weeks at that time our field supervisor and a lead foreman with reinspect the roof covers flashing systems. RainTight does apologize for the gutter replacement taking longer than initially quoted due to hurricanes this summer. The product we are replacing on this project is shipped to us from a mill that was effected by the hurricanes and it delayed delivery's for some time. We will and will always warranty our work and will stand behind everything we do.RainTight

We placed a large amount of concern on the roof of the customers house and after having a roofing company come and meet us at the job then the customer informed us the knew there roof was in bad shape. The roofer said he would take to the shingle manufacture about warranty and at that point was when *** *** informed us that he had already know of the issues and choose to take a cash settlement for the roof in-loo of getting it replaced. The roof at the back of the home was is bad shape and repetitively we spoke about the shingles in the valley and that they needed to be addressed. We even went into the attic and saw water stains on the roof sheeting, it was not rotten but at some time there had been water below the shingles. We had brought a roofer to do a repair and did not get anywhere with the customer due to the roof issues and the problem that the existing roof at that time was in very poor shape. Maybe we did not write a letter saying we wanted to be there when the roof was being replaced but over the expended amount of time we spent working on the issue the roof, roof repair/ new roof installation was brought up frequently, and not hidden that we would like to be there to see what was going on under the shingles. That is really the best way to see what is happening and we talked about. We are sorry we were not able to be involved and when the customer told us they got a new roof and it did not help that left us helpless. We now do not know what the roofing contractor did to our work that we had performed, and were unable to diagnose any issue. We could possibly have issues from the new roof is the installation crew damaged flashing removing the old roof or cut seams. We did suggest a new gutter system that is now available to us and that is what we have scheduled to install. It was not a system we were able to purchase at the time of installation or even the beginning of this year. Its is a product we would like to use for this customer to resolve an issue.Like we previously stated we will be onsite in a short time and will then review and address each and every concern we can.RainTight
