We wonder why insurance costs so much and unfortunately, it's businesses like Pierce that contribute to the exorbitant costAfter their office agreed to sell us a 10-month rent-to-own breathing machine, in spite of our repeated calls to stop, they continued to bill Aetna for additional months for $1,because, as we were told manager said, Pierce "bills as much as the insurance company will pay"It is bad business when you don't honor your agreement, and like shoplifting, we all take the hit by paying more for goods or services to make up for others' illicit gain

My experience with this company has been unacceptable. Equipment was left at my mom's care home, and no one met with the family to show us instructions, despite our offering to meet them upon delivery.

We obtained a portable oxygen concentrator for a long flight for my elderly mother, and the equipment (battery) did not last more than 30 minutes on the plane. we were assured it would last the entire 4 hour flight. This resulted in an EMERGENCY MEDICAL landing in Wichita Kansas (DTW-PHX flight). My mom is oxygen dependent and the tanks on the plane only last 20 minutes each. We were taken off the plane and my mom was evaluated and given O2 by paramedics. The unit worked while plugged in only. We rented a car, where the car charger did not work either. We were sent to another O2 vendor in Wichita and proceeded to drive 2 days to Phoenix.

We incurred hotel fees, rental car fees, gas and food charges we did not anticipate. We lost each lost 3 days of work. We purchased a portable battery at an auto parts store (which did not help), and we purchased clothes for my mom in Wichita.

Pierce will respond that 1.) "we told you there was a manual you could read" and 2) "we are missing a cord when the unit was returned". I am an RN and my husband is an MD; we are more than capable of reading "manuals". The batteries did not work. Also, we returned all equipment that we have.

This issue has taken over 4 months to resolve. They do not stand behind their products and in fact, blame the customer when something goes wrong.

They are deceptive and harsh in their dealings with me. After agreeing to a payment plan with me, the have reneged and sent me to collections. I have talked to them on three separate occassions about this bill and all three times they accepted my terms.
Very shady practices by this company. They took over fourteen months to bill me for the products and services and during that time they were not billing the insurance company. When I asked them about billing months before they did actually bill me, they told me everything was okay and the insurance company was paying.
When they would call me and offer supplies, they assured me that the insurance company was paying for them and I was entitled to the supplies. Very misleading. Their prices are about 50% over what I could have paid for the supplies from an online store.
I do not recommend anyone to purchase sevices or supplies from them.
