Raleigh Imports

On Feb. 25 I bought a used [redacted], on March 1st the vehicle stalled at a dangerous intersection in Cary. I had the car towed to an auto shop, they informed me that the engine had locked up. I called releigh imports on march 4th I was told they would call the mechanic. They did not call. I emailed on March 4th, a reply was sent that the mechanic would be called and I would be called the morning of March 5th. Neither of us have received a call.The car is located at [redacted], [redacted]Desired SettlementI am not sure at this point my options are to have them pay for half of the cost of a new engine plus the towing.The other is to get a complete refund plus the battery that I bought, plus the towing, plus the amount for the car I traded in or that car.Business Response Even though the vehicle was sold as-is with no warranty, we care about our customers.We did contact the repair shop and try to find out what the cause of the issue was,unfortunately the repair shop did state that he was not sure how the engine failed and there was no sign of a pre existing issue..The customer also tried to cancel a $1700 cc charge which we unfortunately forwarded to the credit card fraud dept.....Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated,thank you.....Consumer Response When Imports of Raleigh called the repair shop the only question they asked "Was the engine tampered with?" Imports of Raleigh did not respond until May 20 after they received a letter from my credit card company dispute center asking them to return the $1700.00.Final Business Response Sorry you feel that way,but your response is so untrue .....Not sure what else we can add to untrue statements.......

I bought a used [redacted] at Raleigh Imports located on Capital Blvd. Car turned out having major problemsI bought a used [redacted] from Raleigh Imports, on March 25, 2015. I did a test drive, everything went well. I paid it all in full, $4400. The same day we went out to eat, when we tried turning it back on it didn't turn on. The battery had died. We bought a new battery, truck turned back on &' we took it home. On March 26, 2015, I was leaving work and the truck didn't want to turn on. We found out it was the alternator, got that changed. Truck ran well for about a week, until the 4th of April it started making this weird noise, like metal grinding together. I had it towed to my house. On the 8th of April I had a mechanic check it out. He told me it was thw motor and it had to be repaired. He also told me that the truck shouldn't have passed inspection and there was no inspection paper in the car. Truck has been in the driveway for 2 weeks now. I need help soon!Desired SettlementI'm seeking a refund or for them to help pay for all the labor that is needed in fixing the truck.Business Response Even though the vehicle was sold as-is with no warranty, we care about our customers.The customer did have an issue with the battery which we happily reimbursed in good faith,but then he wanted us to repair the alternator which ended up to be the issue and not the battery....We feel like we went above and beyond even though it was sold as-is...As far as inspection goes,the vehicle has passed the nc state inspection and registered according to the law.....Your help is appreciated in this matter,thank you.
