Buyers Beware !!!!
My daughter and I drove hrsto look at a couple of their carsWe were interested in one car in particular and asked to test drive the car and the salesperson asked if we were both going to drive the car and I said yes so he told us to go inside so we could give our drivers license to the girl inside after she made a copy of the license she said "You got minutes" I said minutes to return the car? She said yes, then got mad because I questioned thisThis dealership is on one of the busiest roads in Raleigh
How far do they think I can go and return in fifteen minutes on Capitol Blvd Seriously!!
What are they hiding and is that anyway to greet someone that just drove hrsto look at you cars?

I purchased an [redacted] from them on 8/6/15. The engine light came on on 8/10/15 and a check out from a dealer found a major problem with engine.[redacted] vin [redacted] purchased on 08/06/15. I acquired a loan from [redacted] for the vehicle for $13,000. The vehicle is used and we did not expect it to be in perfect condition. We drove it from Raleigh to New Bern that night. It ran fine other than an obvious alignment issue and tires out of balance, tire sensor light was on and battery appeared weak and it had a slow start. The next day, Friday 08/07/15, it was driven about 20 miles and then sat the entire weekend I was out of town. Monday when getting in it, the engine light came on and it began to idle roughly and the engine was knocking loudly. Took it to [redacted] for an alignment, balance and rotation of tires, check tire sensor light, oil change and to check the check engine light. It did need a new battery. The check engine light is indicating a major problem. The cam phasers will at least need to be replaced and maybe even another engine installed depending on the amount of damage done. It was found that an oil additive was used to mask the problem and to keep the engine light from coming on. I am being told the repairs could be in the thousands. We have only had this truck for 6 days and it has been in the repair shop for 2 of those days. I understand it is a used vehicle. I have paid to have the following expected things done to the vehicle: oil change, rotate and balance tires, alignment, air filter, coolant service, battery, center cap on wheel. This vehicle has major issues. I have a problem with 1) finding out an additive was used to mask the major problem 2)paying the value I did for a vehicle that has major engine issues. I have left 4 messages for the owner to call and at least discuss the issues with me on 08/11/15. He will not return my calls and the employees said he was on the lot when I called. He is avoiding my phone calls for an obvious reason if you ask me. I did not purchase this vehicle from an individual. I purchased from what I thought was a reputable business. Since there is a major problem with the engine, the price should have reflected that! We would like to return the vehicle and the funds sent back to [redacted]. We have contacted [redacted] to let them know that the vehicle as it is now is not worth the $13,000 they loaned on it. They have turned this information over to a supervisor in the lending department. Desired SettlementThe truck as it is now is not worth the $13,000 we paid for it. Rough estimate right now is a few thousand dollars for repairs, possibly more if the engine needs to be replaced. This problem is more than the cosmetic issues or regular maintenance issues we were expecting or told about. We want the business to take the truck back and issue a full refund to [redacted] along with the money we have already spent servicing it. The truck should then either be repaired or sold disclosing the engine issues. Business Response Very sorry to hear that.We received a call from you about this issue just yesterday requesting to talk to the owner who was at a car auction all day yesterday about 3 hours away and was already notified and wanted to talk to you today to let you know if he can help although your truck was bought AS/IS and about $900 less than the asking price. You drove the truck before you bought it and then drove it again all the way to your house in New Bern, NC on Thursday (almost a week ago) which is at least 2 hours away from Raleigh without any issues. It's obvious the truck didn't have any pre-existing issues when you bought otherwise it would not drive you home for 125 miles. The truck past NC State inspection which indicates it didn't have any issues prior to you buying it.We discounted the truck $900. How much do you think we made to help you fix a $2000 issue 5 days after the AS/IS sale?Anyway, please send us a fax to 919-[redacted] with your mechanics estimate and we'll have ours looks at it to confirm the issue with the truck and to see if we can help get it fixed for less.Consumer Response First of all, we were told yesterday at 9:03am and were told the owner wasn't in the office yet and left a message. Called around 11 amd were told he was there but in the lot and left another message. Called again at 3:06 and was told the owner had then left. If the owner wanted to contact me even today, he would have. 2nd of all, an NC State Inspection does not check for mechanical problems unless the engine light is on. If it is on it can easily be reset to pass inspection. 3rd of all, the mechanics state there was an engine oil additive added to mask the symptoms of the mechanical problem and that is why it drove fine until they drained it when they did the oil change for us. Per a Master [redacted] Technician, the problem with the cam phasers is often masked with additives. Even discounting the vehicle at the $900 you are saying, we paid market value on the vehicle. We negotiated the price based on the truck only having a few minor issues. This truck is not worth this price with this mechanical issue. The truck will not be taken to your mechanics as they obviously helped hide the problem. The truck will be fixed in New Bern by a [redacted] Master Technician. We had the vehicle looked at at [redacted]. When they pulled the codes, they then consulted with a Master [redacted] Technician who helped diagnose the problem as faulty cam phasers. Rough estimate to repair range from $1600-$2000. Oh and by the way, we did drive the vehicle before we bought it on the 20 minute pass we were given. Like I stated, the vehicle was purchased on Thursday evening and then sat all weekend. When I got in it Monday is when it started acting up. So no we have not even had it for a week yet.

I purchased a vehicle and they claimed that it was in running condition/had a new engine. The engine has locked up resulting in innoperable conditionsI purchased a 1994 chevy S10 from this used car dealer. The salesman claimed that the car had a new engine and was in running condition. He also said, and I quote, "This is mostly going to be good if you have a small job to use it for." I used this car mostly to transport myself to my primary job but I picked up a second delivery job for 1 day out of the week. On the first day of the job the car started making loud smacking noises and the next day when I got in the car to drive to work it wouldn't start. After attempting a jump start and adding gasoline to the vihicle I was forced to have it towed to a mechanic where I was told that the engine is locked and is beyond repair. I cannot afford to have an engine replaced. The mechanic indicated that the engine trouble resulted from the fact that the engine was old and worn out. This means that the salesman has lied to me. The total amount of the car purchase was 3045 dollars. Needless to say, I don't think it is fair to have to pay my car loan month by month and not be able to use this vehicle. Unless this situation is resolved, I will likely lose my second job and suffer income loss. All I ask is that car be either fixed, or that the dealer refunds the purchase or reverses the sale. I am perfectly willing to be flexible with this dealer as long as they resolve the problem in a fair and honest way. I purchased the vehicle one month ago (March) and it broke down at the beginning of April. I have only just recently been able to afford housing after being homeless for a long period of time and am afraid that this situation will result in such a heavy loss of assets that I may be forced into homelessness once again. Desired SettlementI really would just like a refund, but if the car can be repaired I will be willing to accept that offer. In addition, if the dealer is willing to give me a vehicle that is in working order and amounts to the same value as the purchase in exchange for the inoperable vehicle, I will also accept that. I just want them to do the righ thing. Business Response I\'m really sorry to hear that you had this experience with us.We strive and always go the extra mile to ensure customer service before, during and after every sale. We bought this truck on a trade and we were told by the previous owner that the engine was replaced. We told you exactly what we were told but not promising anything since we didn\'t get the engine replaced ourselves. The best I can do is help you get the engine repaired for our cost which is way less then the market price. (probably (%50 to %60)Although it\'s a such an inexpensive truck at $2498 and it was purchased AS-IS please call us and we\'ll do our best to help you get the truck repaired at the lowest cost possible.Best Regards,[redacted]. Consumer Response Raleigh Pre-owned has effectively stolen 500 dollars from me. The amount on my bill of sale is 3046 dollars and they have taken 3500 from the bank. If they do not resolve this issue I will litigate. Business Response I am so sorry mr [redacted] is having alot of problems with this deal, but I am willing to go the extra step to insure he is happy....On 3/7/14 we recieved the check from [redacted] with an over payment of 455 dollars.....We issued a check to [redacted] on 3/10/14 to [redacted] for the balance....It is not money we kept or stole as stated......We have a copy of the check and we did speak to mr [redacted] about it as well....But I will be happy to contact [redacted] and send them a copy of the check to verify.......Thank you for the help in this matter.......

The vehicle I purchased has a clutch that needs to be replaced. They did not warn me of any issues.I purchased this vehicle saturday, February 28th and noticed a problem on the drive home. I could not get the car looked at until the following Monday only to find that it needs not only a new clutch, but also new brakes and a new belt all totaling around 1,300 dollars. I drove the car for only 10 hours at most and the clutch has already gone out as of March 4th at 10:00 p.m. I feel that because of their unfair and dishonest business practices, I should not be liable for replacing these parts. Desired SettlementI am seeking payment on their behalf due to unfair and dishonest practices to cover costs for repair to a vehicle I drove for 3 days and quit working due to a bad clutch.Business Response So sorry to hear this bad experience with a car that you just purchased. At Raleigh Pre-Owned we strive and go the extra mile before, during and after each sale. After we received your complaint over the phone and now here we conducted more investigation and found out according to our mechanic and another person at the dealership that the [redacted] had a transmission and a clutch that were fine without any issues and they only way to damage the clutch is by driving rough. However, and although the car was sold AS-IS we will be glad to help the customer with all the labor here in Raleigh if they can tow back to us and if they can provide the parts or we can even get the parts ourselves with our discounted price as long the customer commit to paying for the parts.Best Regards,Raleigh Pre-Owned

Mr. [redacted](owner)claimed he would provide new orignal factory [redacted] carpeted floor mats for the [redacted] I bought from him and they would get in in a week. Mr. [redacted](owner)claimed he would provide new orignal factory [redacted] carpeted floor mats for the [redacted] I bought from him and they would get in in a week. The floor mats never came and after repeated visits he would continue to tell me that he just got the order in, their in the mail, etc. It reached a point where he would not return contact and quite honestly I think he felt since the sale was done he'd just rather move on and essentially keep on telling me they'd be coming later, maybe this was just a big mix up but it all seemed really indifferent. Desired Settlement$112 for the tax included cost of orginal "bisque" carpeted factory mats from [redacted] on [redacted] phone number ([redacted]) [redacted]. Business Response We, at Raleigh Pre-Owned, strive for the best customer satisfaction and always go the extra mile to ensure our customers and happy and always hope for them to come back.[redacted] promised you to get a used set of mats for your [redacted] as soon as we get another [redacted] and this is all obviously a misunderstanding.I want to apologize on behalf of Raleigh Pre-Owned and offer you to come to our office on capital blvd., bring your [redacted] and we'll be glad to give you full refund on the mats.[redacted].Consumer Response After talking with Mr. [redacted] we did have a misunderstanding and I could of been more detailed with what I was expecting. Anyway everything worked out and I still have my [redacted] today- very happy with it- thank you Mr. [redacted] definitely am enjoying my car that I got from you thanks again!- [redacted]

My husband and I drove an hour and a half to purchase a [redacted] that we would only have for less than 2 days because of engine trouble. On March 7, 2015 my husband and I drove from Greensboro to Raleigh to possibly purchase a [redacted] from Raleigh preowned on Capitol Blvd. Desired SettlementOn March 7, 2015 my husband and I drove from Greensboro to Raleigh to possibly purchase a [redacted] from Raleigh preowned on Capitol Blvd. We pulled in the parking lot and my husband got out of our vehicle in a parking lot with other customers and no employee. Nobody came out to greet him. He had to go inside to let them know we wanted to test drive the truck. [redacted], the manager brought the vehicle around to the front. We got out of our own vehicle to get into the [redacted] when my husband told [redacted] that there was not enough gas in the truck and [redacted] told him it was. We proceeded to test drive the vehicle and not even 10 minutes into the test drive the truck ran out of gas. We had to sit on the side of the road and wait for another employee [redacted] after telling [redacted] that we ran out of gas. Once [redacted] brought us some gas, we went back to the car lot. We parked the vehicle and started looking over everything. We looked over the vehicles by ourselves after [redacted] and [redacted] came out to grab tags off the cars and go back inside. When we had a question we had to go inside and get them or wait for them to come back outside. We ended up purchasing the vehicle. We did our paperwork and the place even had the Revdex.com sign for the Revdex.com on [redacted] desk. The truck did have minor scratches and a cracked dashboard. After finishing the paperwork we left to go home. 30 to 45 minutes into the ride home the tire monitor system came on. My husband called Raleigh preowned abd they said that one of the tires may not have had enough air it. We kept driving home. When we got home it was after 8pm at night. The next morning I drove the truck to church and to the store. We only received 1 key for the truck. I had to get another chip key made for $60 along with a keyless remote because the one we were given wouldnt work even with a new battery put in. I do have receipts for these things Mondays. , March 9, 2015 I cranked the truck up to warm it up. I went back in the house and once I was ready to go I got back in the truck to find several lights and messages blinking. Service traction control, service stabilitrak, and reduced engine power came messages came on along with the traction picture and a picture if the engine. My husband called them and was told to get it to the nearest [redacted] dealership and that they would probably take care of it but would not be able to tow it for us because they didnt have enough staff. My husband had to get it to the [redacted] dealership on his own. He had to keep calling Raleigh preowned to see what they were gonna do.Business Response Gave the customer extra money for gas. They knew about the only key. They test drove the [redacted] without any issues. They drove another hour and a half without any issues. They called 2 days later complaining about lights and messages in dashboard and we offered to get it towed to the [redacted] dealership and pay for towing. Also authorized dealer to go ahead with diagnostics for $65 this morning and they are in the process of looking at it as I'm typing this response.I DON'T UNDERSTAND. YOU BOUGHT THE CAR AS-IS AND WE'RE GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND TO TRY TO HELP YOU.Consumer Response We only received money for gas after we ran out of gas during the test drive. We had to ask for that. The hour and a half that we drove was on the way home in which lights for stuff being wrong then started to pop up. Initially there was no offer to tow the vehicle because you "don't have enough staff". We were told to drive it to the dealership. Who wouldn't complain about something being wrong with the vehicle they bout less than 2 days ago. You make it seem like yall were bothered by being called about the issues. Mind you the tires on the vehicle need to be replaced and yall won't pay for that which was $800 and the issue with the engine was connected to the accelerator which was another $400. So you expected us to pay $1200 for a vehicle that we had less than 2 days. Something is really wrong with yall. Hope nobody else falls for your so called "above and beyond". Final Business Response Very weird story. The car was fixed yesterday after we authorized the dealer to fix all lights and sensors related to the engine performance and vehicle functionality and reliability for $465.The customer who's writing these complaints needs to communicate with her husband and the shop before posting things she's not aware of like we promised her husband to pay for towing and we worked with the dealer all day yesterday to ensure everything will be taking care of with the exception of a tire light which would not effect any of the vehicle functionality. The car was sold AS-IS and you don't think our efforts went above and beyond?
