Raleigh Wrought Iron and Fence Reviews (1)

I did not get the high quality, powder coated outdoor railing as advertised by Raleigh Wrought Iron due to subpar installation/painting of the shoes.Three days after fabricated custom wrought iron outdoor railings/shoes (price $850-paid by [redacted]-bill not disputed) were installed on 10-26-15, rust was documented on the railing shoes. My best guess is the powder coating was damaged during installation leaving them susceptible to rust or maybe they weren't properly powder coated. Mr. [redacted] was emailed and his solution was to just to paint over the rust with oil based paint made for rust (no primer)although the paint manufacturer recommends primer for best results and a long lasting finish. Mr. [redacted] stated that the rust was nowhere close to being an issue and that he fixed it. No response from him as to why it rusted. This does not restore them to the original powder coated finish as advertised since this is impossible to do offsite. I also asked for him to come, when he initially said that he was coming to fix it, at a time when I was home and he did not honor that even though I have a flexible schedule. Also, one shoe was not properly attached via screw on one side. I have asked him to install new railings/shoes since they are both welded together now and he offered a $150 check and to weld a part that is not welded. I sent an email on 11-4-15 stating that I would not settle for the $150 and told him about the screw that was not properly attached. He did not respond. After the email on 11-4-15 he never offered to come look at it, install new railings/shoes, or reattach the screw properly. I would like to have the high quality, long lasting, powder coated railings/shoes advertised. I have emails/pictures to support everything./////. Desired SettlementI would like for Mr. [redacted] to remove the previously installed railings/shoes at the same time as he installs new fabricated powder coated, high quality, long lasting wrought iron custom railings/shoes of the same style. This would need to be done without causing damage to the new railings/shoes as not to compromise the integrity of the powder coated finish advertised. I understand that the welds/screws will be painted. The painting and job will have to be done according to the application instructions for the paint used previously and the weather forecast. Also, rust inhibitive primer would be applied before the paint is applied to the welds/screws and allowed time to dry properly. This would ensure for best results as recommended on the paint manufacturer's website for a long lasting finish. Also, the screws should be secured properly./////
