Review: I purchased a 2016 Acura RDX at the end of August. Among other options, I purchased an Auto start from the dealership. After getting the auto start finally working right (had to be programmed by the dealership), I saw the flaws of the system. I began going back and forth with James XXXX (my salesman) regarding the Auto start and how uncomfortable it was to walk around with 2 Acura Key fobs, my house and work keys. In addition, I told James that the engine shuts off every time I open the car door (a safety feature according to Acura) and I would have to restart the car. James assured me he would deal with the issue; after several message James finally called back and said all has been taken care of. I would get an after market part installed in lieu of my current autostart. The after market part was one key fob and would not shut off every time the door opened. More importantly, I was told the part would not cost me a dime to replace and install. I was happy the issue had been resolved and decided to pass by the dealership to schedule an appointment with James. Once at the dealership, James reached out to Joseph XXXX (his manager) who informed me that there would not be any after market auto start installation and I would have to pay an hour and 1/2 worth of labor to have the Acura part removed. I was a little taken back as I had entered the dealership expecting to set up an appointment but now I was being told something else. I remember telling James Arismendy that I would prefer future communication in writing as I felt that I was told one thing over the phone and something else in person.

I voiced my concerns/opinions and left the matter in Joseph XXXX hands. I was told the end of the month is a busy time and Joe would contact Acura to see if they could take care of the labor cost.

After about a week of waiting, I called Joseph XXXX today and after a 15 minute conversation of mainly back and forth I was told I would still have to pay the labor cost to remove the auto start.

A few issues

Had I been told the engine shuts off after the door is opened, I would not have purchased the auto start

Had I known I would be walking around with 2 Acura key fobs among my other keys, I would not have purchased the auto start

I was told my James (My salesman) that he had spoken to his manager and the issue would be resolved with no costDesired Settlement: At this point, I would like the autostart removed as it does not make any logical sense for me to restart the vehicle after starting it. I also do not like the 2 key fobs that I have to walk around with on a daily basis.

I would like a complete refund of the auto start and no charge for labor in removing the part.
