Review: I am filing this complaint against Giant Oak Apartments, my mother is a tenant she is a 78 year old woman, who has has many health issues and is being force to have to deal with infestation (roaches and bed bugs) This is an issue that has gone on for years, she has complained to the rent office to only have very little done about it. This is a health hazard!!! My mother has recently been released from the hospital where she has very limited mobility. Bed bugs are in the bed with her while she sleeps roaches crawl on the walls it is disguesting. It is very expensive to move and she is on a fixed income. She is in the process of having a physical therapist come to the house, I am afraid she will be refused service due to the infestation. I contacted the property owner [redacted] on Augsust 26, 2014 at 11:32 am tel[redacted] explained my concerns he hung up on me twice stated "I dont have time for this call the rent office" I then contacted the rent office at [redacted] sw a rep who stated I needed to contact the owner, I explained he hung up on me several times she stated she will try to find out when the exterminator will come to fix the problem. This has gone on for years why should an elderly woman be subjected to this. I am desperate for help and don't know where to turn please help!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like the rental office to be financially responsible for putting my mother as well as the other tenants affected in a hotel while the apartment complex is properly fumigated. I would also like a formal apology to my mother and the tenants for having to deal with this disgusting and despicable situation. I would also like the owner to be investigated as a slumlord.

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the company that represents the apartment complex and she stated that a pest control company has been out to the home to treat the problems and the Code Enforcement was notified also about the problem
