Review: My ex wife's car started having revers issues. It would work fine some times then not at all at other times.I check the fluid and it was very clean like it had just been serviced, All the forward gears, kick down and shift points were all normal(I was master tech ASE, automotive business for 26 years).I R&R'd it she pay to have it fixed. I new Mr. [redacted] from doing checks for him. I got the car on 1-7-14.I called Mr. [redacted] and he came over and test drove it,I asked how long & how much. he test drove it & said the same thing I did, every thing but revers was good, It would take a week and be around 700.00. 2 weeks later I was told what was found, he called me over and show me that the direct drive drum's bushing had come loose and that the rest of it was in good shape, you could still see part #'s on the clutches and that the pan was clean n, no little pieces of anything in it, and that by replacing the drum it should go another 70,000 to 100,000 miles. I okayed it, at this point no work order on it yet, @ weeks latter I got it back put it in found the kick down cable sticking, my gear indictor lights on the dash inop. and when I drove it, it now shifted around 5,000 rpm revers slipped and the kick down was working right, I showed him what it was doing and he said do you want me to remove it or do you want to, I did it because his 1 week was already 4. I drained the fluid into a clean new bucket but didn't look at it gave him the transmission was told it needed another revers clutch add, then I was told that the back part of the case was damaged and he must of missed it. 2 weeks that time, got it back put it in revers worked, still shifted late and kick down would freewheel when the gas was pushed. went back to my shop drained some fluid and that's when I saw the aluminum shaving in it, checked the first bucket and the bottom was covered with it, he didn't even tell me about that. showed him the shaving. I asked for the money back he said ok but now won't give it to me. more but no roomDesired Settlement: I would like my 800.00 back, he should also have to pay me for all the fluids, flushing and extra time I spent pulling the transmission after the first time,I had to buy a different transmission. I told him I filed a complaint with the B.A.R. he said he still wasn't giving it back. He wrote installed new parts on W.O. I checked and they were used and could be what damaged the thing. http://ramcotransmissionrepair.com/ states licensed, garneted,18y. exp. & he has no transmission employee.
