Re: ***Dear Ms ***,In regards to the above complaint, allow me to clarify that the customer did not purchase his aids from Rametta Audioiogy, but rather obtained them at no charge through the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in January of 2011.Since the date the hearing aids
were delivered we have over documented occasions where the hearing aids were brought to our office completely covered in earwax due to "lack of care" by the customerNumerous times we were able to repair the instruments in the office and the customer was told that his level of care was not appropriate to make the instruments lastThe customer is expecting to not care for the product properly, but then expecting them to last forever with no additional costIf he is not going to care for the hearing aids, it will cost money to have them repaired.Every time the instruments have needed to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair, it has been due to moisture and wax and has been documented by the manufacturerThe customer has never been charged for a service that has not been charged to usEach the customer is charged for a repair, he also receives a year warranty to cover future damageI hope this clarifies the situation; the hearing aid is repaired and under warranty and is waiting for payment and pick up.Michaei * R*** MS Clinical Audiologist

Dear Ms [redacted]In regards to ID [redacted] I believe there is serious misunderstanding between the present and the past:On May 24, 2006 Mrs [redacted] purchased hearing instruments that DID have a 5 year service contract that included batteries. Due to an employee that did not follow directions, Mrs [redacted]...

continued to receive batteries until she purchased her new hearing instruments on November 9, 2012. This particular contract clearly states the new service contract for the same amount of time as the warranty of the hearing aids (1 year). Due to the same lack of following directions, the same employee (who is no longer with the company) continued to give away the free batteries to Mrs [redacted] until a new employee informed her that the free batteries were well past expired.Batteries were indeed mailed at no charge for many years until we determined the cost of postage was becoming too expensive. Every patient has always been told of the shipping charges prior to sending batteries. Mrs [redacted] was also sent 48 batteries prior to this complaint. As to the request for reimbursement of $20 spent on batteries....I believe this to be ridiculous as 48 batteries have already been sent and the batteries purchased were at the discretion of Ms [redacted] after requesting batteries from us too late for them to arrive before Mrs [redacted]'s current supply was depleted.I believe this clearly explains the contractual obligation of Rametta Audiology and it is my hope it completely clears this matter.Sincerely,Michael * R[redacted]. Review: I AM POA FOR MY MOTHER WHO JUST TURNED 100 YEARS OLD. SHE HAS HAD HEARING AIDS FROM RAMETTA FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 YEARS, SEVERAL SETS AT APPROXIMATELY $4000.00 PER SET.

FOR THE ENTIRE PERIOD REPLACEMENT BATTERIES WERE ALWAYS SUPPLIED AS PART OF THE HEARING AID PURCHASE FROM RAMETTA.

WHEN MY MOTHER LIVED LOCALLY THE BATTERIES WERE PERSONALLY DELIVERED TO HER, FREE OF CHARGE, THEN WHEN SHE CAME TO LIVE OUT OF STATE THE BATTERIES WERE ALWAYS MAILED FREE OF CHARGE AND SHIPPING.

THE LAST TIME I CALLED I WAS TOLD THAT BATTERIES WERE NOT FREE AFTER WARRANTY. THIS WAS NEVER THE CASE BEFORE. THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THIER COMMITMENT AND WANTED OVER $40 FOR BATTERIES PLUS SHIPPING. THESE SAME BATTERIES CAN BE PURCHASED FOR LESS THAN HALF THAT PRICE. NOT ONLY WILL THEY NOT PROVIDE THE BATTERIES FREE OF COST AS WAS PROMISED AND WAS THE STANDARD FOR OVER 10 YEARS, THEY ARE GOUGING THE PRICE, WHICH IS TERRIBLE AS MOST OF THEIR CLIENTS ARE SENIOR CITIZENS. WE WOULD LIKE THE $20 REIMBURSED THAT WE SPENT ON BATTERIES PLUS A YEARS SUPPLY OF BATTERIES.Desired Settlement: REFUND OF $20 PAID FOR BATTERIES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE. PLUS A YEARS WORTH OF BATTERIES SENT FREE OF CHARGE AND SHIPPING.

Review: I purchased two hearing aids from merchant and over the past few years and at least once a year one of the hearing aids have been sent back for repairs. Every time they tell me the warranty has expired and I have to pay to get my aids back. It is safe to say the both hearing aids have been sent back more than 6 times over the past two to three yearsDesired Settlement: Once again they have a hearing aid of mine and once again the warranty has expired and they refused to return the hearing aid until it is paid, I feel that they need to be responsible for their product
