Ramey Construction Reviews (1)

Review: Contractor has given dates to continue ongoing work and repeatedly has failed to show.Calls go unanwered.Last attempt to perform work was for 2 hours, nothing done.Does not back up commitments, fails to correct inferior work.Delivers materials and does not return to install.I have procured material at various times and stored while waiting up to 5 weeks for workers to show.Leaves me with the impression that the contractor feels my work can wait while he continues to take on new work and I wont tire of waiting, getting no reasonable explanation on why I am put off.Desired Settlement: To recieve 25% of the money spent previosuly returned due to excessive labor costs and inferior work. Also to have equipment and uninstalled material removed from the property.

Response:

The original job request was for a remodeling of a bathroom and living room. The remodeling of the bathroom and the living room was completed and payment was received. Customer was asked prior to paying if everything was okay and reponded that everything was okay. The complaint that is pending here seems to be due to lack of communication. After the original job of remodeling of bathroom and living room the customer was happy with the job, paid the last amount, and requested a back porch job (some trim work and some wall board and new counter tops). The countertops have been ordered and are on site of the job. These are custom made and cannot be returned. We were asked to delay starting that job due to the wife having knee surgeries. In the mean time we did start some new jobs due to the fact we are a business that has employees and payroll must be met. I had told the custormer that we would try to work him in a little bit during the week and he seemed fine with that. Now we receive the complaint. I do have a problem with refunding 25% previously due to the fact that the customer was content with the job and paid. As to the "excessive labor costs" please note that the custormer purchased the paint and due to the color chosen the room took an excessive amount of time. This job was a "paid by the hour" job and the homeowner was there at all times, therefore, I cannot understand the customer wishing for a refund.

I have been out of town (and country at times) since July 1 and have just now had access to check emails. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions, ###-###-#### or [redacted]

Thanks,

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There are several instances in Mr.Ramey's response that are untruthful,I find that is a pattern that has been repeated, blaming me for delays, stating that were miscommunications,I was never asked if I was satified at any point.I had instances when I let it be known that I was not happy with certain details,on some fixes were attempted but over all still unsatisfactory.I have unsatifactory work on the back porch Mr.Ramey agreed to fix at no charge. It is evident to me that that no satisfaction is to be derived from this company where blatant untrue satements are made on the Revdex.com site as weall as to me directly on the phone. The countertops referred to arrived with 2 of 3 sections with scuffs on them, they were laid on my back porch to remain indefinately. The tops were delivered from the back of a shortbed pickup truck, stacked atop one another with misc. equipment as well.I desire Mr.Ramey to pick up materials and equipment, currently on my front porch.I also desire remuneration of funds previously paid for labor on the back porch, this work that Mr.Ramey agreed to remedy but I dont feel that a timely, satisfactory job can be performed by this company.I feel a 250.00 refund will replace some materials and provide funds to cover the labor to perform this work, substantially less than what was paid. These are the conditions I feel that need to be met before any resolution can be derived.

Response:

Mr. Ramey stated right after he received the consumer's rebuttal he went to their home and picked up the tools, packed up the counter tops (he also said they looked fine, no scratches) and refunded them $250.
